I miss Erik Williams...

i think erik would have been the greatest ever if it wasnt for that accident. they made a rule just for him because he was just so dominant against the nfl posterchild in reggie.

Ah, the hands to the face rule...otherwise known as the cobra :)

MEMORIES BB GUN...........didn't he snap Ted Washington's leg? If not him it was Dennis Brown maybe. bad mofo:eek:

It was Washington's leg he broke with a shove that knocked him off-balance and he came down wrong on the leg.

My memory of that game is right before the half we were DOMINATING the Niners and a time out was called. As CBS was going to a commercial break the camera shot on TV was Big E without his helmet taking a water bottle and squirting all over his face. He then raised his face up in the air and looked toward the sky and blew the water in the air like a Giant Killer Whale! It was an AWESOME shot! Madden laughed and laughed. He absolutely loved Erik Williams.

Your Crazy...

I wonder why the best ever isn't in Canton.

I already know your answer, it was his "off the field issues".
Actually, no you don't know my answer. What I meant was that Erik Williams' peak performance was the best I'd ever seen, more dominant than Larry Allen's peak, and many call Allen the most dominant ever.

But good try on the guessing.

Many would consider Reggie White to be the best ever, or at least top 5. Erik Williams manhandled Reggie White; he reduced William Fuller to an on-field nervous wreck; he left Michael Strahan in slack-jawed awe. Irvin compared him to Jerry Rice. For one fleeting period of time, he performed at an other-worldly level.

True, but some people don't take the time to actually read the post. Good to see a fellow Williams fan. A real treat would be if someone could post some videos of Williams.

We haven't had anybody on our Oline like him since he left and that includes LA. I loved LA but he didn't play with the nasty attitude and fire that Big E played with.. Like I said, we've seen nothing like him since...

Agreed!!! But LA didn't play with that mean streak like Big E. LA overpowered you, Big E overpowered you then humiliated you.. He was mean and nasty. Thats my opinion!!!

His titanic battles with Reggie White were the best.

You said a mouthful!!! I miss that cat too. He was my favorite Olinemen. We've been struggling at RT ever since he left. Big E was a absolute BEAST. He was the one guy that use to flatout handle Reggie White consistently. I once heard Strahan say that Big E was the toughest T he's ever played against.. He would physically beat you up.. He was awesome!!!

I heard somewhere Strahan was whining about Big E punishing him and Big E replied, "Shut up and take your *** kickin like a man"!

Our team needs attitude.

Thats a true story. I also saw a interview with Strahan where he stated that Big E was the toughest T he's ever played against....

Actually Strahan tells that story himself. It was on NFL Network.

no surprise about "sally" strahan BTW!:laugh1: I NEED some '91-'96 cowboy footage. Suggestions?

Anyone know what Big E is up to these days? Hopefully he's staying out of trouble. I DESPERATELY miss those glory days of the 90's. God he beat on people. Remember his head butts? He'd just about knock guys out with that move.:laugh2: Never the same player after his car accident, but what heart and what a motor. Just a guy that LOVED to play the game. I know everyone talks about Larry Allen and he's a hall of famer. But with all this Davis talk, and his apparent lack of "zest" for the game, I sure wish we could transplant Big E's nasty streak into Leonard.

And Big E owned the late great Reggie White, but obviously that's been covered, my bad. I will never forget Big E headbutting John Jurkovichs' leg in the NFC title game and ripping his knee up, that some serious power.

This image in 1995, a year after the accident, White still seems to be having difficulty.

Do ya'll think Big E gets in the HoF someday? He deserves it just for whoppin' on ole Reggie all those years.
