My daughter is 25 and is already a CFO for a real estate company. She's smart, but mostly she's just a hard worker. She says when 5:01 pm hits, she's the only person under the age of 35 still in the office. LOL
You did a good job. Salud!

Yes, it did exist. People today are generally lazy, uncommitted, dumb, and useless.

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

- Socrates

Old people have been ******** about how much better they are and how hard they work since the dawn of mankind

Working longer hours isn’t necessarily working harder or being more productive. Depends on profession .

I tried to be out on the golf course a couple times early a week . And it usually was entertaining clients or playing with other associates.

In todays society with technology you don’t have to be in the office all day. Work can be done remotely.

Things evolve . Times change and smart educated business people role with it. There are some professions like in the medical field or service industries where you have to be on hand all the time.

Athletes today are in better shape and stay in shape year round .

We have Mini Camps, spring drills, etc. And why training camp and practices aren’t as needed as they used to be. Plus the risk of injury is greater with not as much depth on teams to replace.

You obviously don't hire people or pay attention to employment numbers.

In fact, young men are getting completely left behind in the work force, colleges, and socially. Most of them barely leave the house.

This guy explains it well, and it's what I see in the work force.

Today’s NFL is very business and entertainment-driven. The NFL cares more about corporate sponsorship/revenues than the fans. Even the players are savvy as it relates to social media and carefully cultivate their images.,The CBA in its current iteration, is specific and restrictive in what players are permitted to do during mini-camps as well as training camps; this would more than likely fly in the face of what these hard-nosed, disciplinarian coaches want to do with the team. Additionally, I think today’s players are softer than their predecessors, so that’s another difference.

Can you imagine Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcells or Tom Landry coaching today? I think they would be so frustrated given the restrictions placed upon them and the difference in the attitudes of the players.

So you have no objective standard by which to defend your claim, while I listed half a dozen just off the top of my head. Cool.
Everything I said is objective. All you did was state an opinion that an overwhelming amount of people will laugh off as utter nonsense

NFL players make more money than their bosses. Almost all of them. Unfortunately, they often wield that power over their franchises when they get that money, and the teams have to kowtow to them.

It's about to change in college, too. A&M had the best recruiting class in the country this year, but half those kids will be in the portal in a few months. College coaches are now going to have to kiss their players butts to get them to stay, and NIL money will be used to lure players from one school to another.

Then add the nature of kids today, many of which have absolutely no respect whatsoever for authority and run from anyone who tries to use it on them.

One person would call this progress.

Nice to see College athletes finally having the option to move about not having to lose a year of eligibility.

We might eventually need for these College athletes to sign contracts or commitments of some kind .

Another would call this the ruinization of team sports and the team concept.

I can see progress in some areas and ruinization as well. I think colleges should do away with basketball and football scholarships and just let those players get paid if they can for their NIH - that seems like a fair compromise doesn't it! Why should the nobody's get a scholarship?

The nobody’s need the scholarship in order to attend the school as most couldn’t afford tuition.

Unless you want to completely reinvent the wheel and not have amateur or student athletes at the college level.

Remember this would impact all sports. Fans may not realize that at most universities football funds all of the other smaller sports and their scholarships .

It’s just a small segment of athletes who are benefitting from the new rules. Most student athletes are dependent on the scholarships in order to attend and is considered a great benefit in itself.

Parcells sucked when he was here.
He took a bunch of no-name, limited talent and made them into a playoff team that was hard nosed , and high effort . Yeah, I guess that is not good enough compared to the jelly donut-eating fat guy that is the head coach now.

For the sake of argument let’s just try to imagine what reinventing the wheel would mean if we no longer offered scholarships .

How would we transform high school athletes to the college level? Remember most of these student athletes are there to get an education and playing sports is just the means to an end for them.

Only about 10% of student athletes eventually turn professional . So do we just hire on all high school athletes to become professional for college athletics. Do you see where I’m going with this . I’m not sure everyone has thought this entire process thru.

And why the NCAA is just allowing those athletes who can earn the additional sponsorship revenue to pursue such. Otherwise the entire system is at risk. Along with the education for most of these student athletes . Could be a catastrophic result in attempting to restructure entire process.

Just like any other student who goes to college. Why should regular students be subsidizing athletes?

This is not a Romo thread. This is a Bill Parcells thread. Fast forward to the Parcells portion of the video.

Can't do this anymore. Now you have to hug them and blow sunshine up their butts, or they'll quit on you. That's why so many coaches now look like 28-year-old IT guys.

Building character and discipline is a lost art in football. The sloppy nonsense of today gets hard to watch.

Unfortunately for us, the players don't!

Actually the athletic department funds itself with the revenue it generates and the endowments not by the state .
