And thank you, mods for moving a perfectly fine thread to the "opinion zone" ...
Agendaitis is running rampant.

Knowing the offense better which has been said ... "Romo knows the offense better" ... means he knows the playbook better and how to execute it ...
I'll simplify it since you seem to be "challenged".
In other words, interpereting the playbook translates to execution.

CaptainAmerica said:Lighten up, man. You get too worked up. There is no need for throwing out names like "POS", etc. We are all on the same team here, even though sometimes I do wonder.
All I asked you to do was attribute a source to the statement. I honestly did not know if I had missed the quote somewhere.
If you want to say that's your interpretation of things that have been said regarding Romo and the offense, that's ok, I don't have a problem with that, even though I may disagree with your interpretation. I wasn't calling you a liar.
Just relax and let's discuss the Boys without the hatred. :grouphug:

Banned_n_austin said:According to BZ ... knowing the playbook better has nothing to do with knowing the offense better.
Jesus H. Priest, where do we get these people?
blindzebra said:Glad to see your comprehension skills are at the same level as your understanding of football.
I said, reducing it to knowing the playbook better is SIMPLISTIC.
That when Parcells said Romo understands the offense better that he meant he knows how to make the play work against what the defense is trying to do to stop you.
They both most likely know equally well that play X is this formation with X number of receivers running these routes. That is basic stuff.
Romo's extra year in the system and no lay off from being emersed in football means he can take play X and better understand what he sees from the defense and what adjustments he needs to make to make play X work.
If you would actually READ what I said perhaps you'd figure out that it was pretty positve for Romo, but no you need to take shots at Henson and make fun of everyone who hopes he will improve.
Banned_n_austin said:It's all good.
But if you don't think that knowing the offense better means having a better understanding of the playbook, then I can't help you.
Audibles, checks, reads etc etc all correlate with the play book and translate to knowing the playbook and knowing the playbook translates to execution. It's ignorant to say otherwise.
CaptainAmerica said:No Banned, I don't need your help. I understand your point. All you had to do was respond with that when I first asked instead of throwing out the "POS" bombs and "look it up yourself" and I would have known what you meant and we could have avoided being banished to Purgatory.
"Knowing the playbook" brings to mind the picture of the QB looking at his wristband when the play comes in. A lot of people used to criticize a lot of QBs for doing that until they realized it's become the norm these days.
Let's hope they both play well tonight and end this discussion for now, what do you say?
Banned_n_austin said:So basically he knows how to execute the playbook better?
That's what I thought ...
ABQCOWBOY said:Haha! He's back.
I like that one much better. FYI, what BZ says does have some truth to it.
I would say that Romo probably knows the playbook better and he's probably more comfortable in the offense but there is a difference in the two.

blindzebra said:No you chose the most belittling, simplistic, and inaccurate way to describe, "A little bit better."
Instead of looking at something that is, in fact, complimentary to both QBs you choose to slight Henson.
Romo is farther along, but keep in mind he has an extra year in the offense and came directly from playing football, the mere fact that Henson not only is close...Parcells words, unless you have a different way to read a little bit ahead...is testament to how hard he is working and what kind of ability Henson has.
You poke fun at agendas, yet none is more transparent than yours.
Banned_n_austin said:QUARTERBACKS
The Keepers: Something drastic will have to occur before Drew Bledsoe loses the starting job, but at this point, Tony Romo is much closer to Bledsoe than he is to Drew Henson.
Monday's game might turn out to be the most important of the season for Henson, who will be the first quarterback off the bench. Even a superb outing probably won't win him the job, though. Romo has been much more consistent during this training camp, and he seems to be getting better each practice. Henson appears to have lost confidence.
All three of these guys should make the team.

Who's transparent with an agenda?
mmm hmmm ...
I had the same thought.ndanger said:Well at least this thread had 2 pages of interesting dialogue.Somewhere along the line it was high-jacked by agendas .Too bad, it started off being a great read.
blindzebra said:Mosley's your ace?
Now that's funny.
The guy's been saying the same thing for 3 weeks, while every other writer has mentioned Henson struggling early and then coming on this past week.
Looks more like a deuce to me.

Banned_n_austin said:How bout' Madden?
Does his assesment work for you?
:laugh2:
Maybe you should ask Parcells.
Did you watch the game last night?
Did you take your head out of the sand to notice anything about the game?
