So long as it's not to the Eagles..

I still maintain that this team lacks the emotional maturity to go into the playoffs on an 8 game win streak. I'd much rather they drop one somewhere along the way to help them refocus. And perhaps more importantly to get the media off their nuts.

I think Houston game served as a wakeup call. Cowboys have 4 games left I want to see them getting after teams. Only exception in my view is the last game of the season, is there something we are actually playing for that is as important as health.

The Cowboys will definitely lose another game before the end of the season. Going into the playoffs on a roll is the recipe for postseason success. Losing in week 16 to the Cardinals last season certainly didn’t make the Cowboys more motivated for the playoffs. They had won 4 straight games prior to that loss. Losing games takes some steam out of you.

you don't think Houston should effectively assume that role?

I never want to see them loose. That said, they better be hitting on all cylinders this Sunday as Jacksonville is no push over. They have a QB that has a canon for an arm that is also accurate and has mobility.
I actually look forward to it. Lawrence moving out of the pocket and throwing will give this team some stuff on tape to watch on Hurts as well. Its a great game to play before the Eagles come to town.

You may get your wish this Sunday. Jags are coming along strong.

I believe winning ugly is close to a loss, wake up call.. that whats great about Sunday..you win but also take hard lessons from it. worst thing was that 33 point qtr with Indy.

Maybe.. but an ugly win still allows stuff to be swept under the rug. An ugly loss is a much better wake up call.
Nah i think it sends the same message, behind closed doors in those meeting rooms they are being shown all those mistakes and the bad headlines. the media has destroyed them all week.

The Cowboys are gonna lose another game or two imo, but if they can't handle success Big Mike needs to get on his job.

Agreed. Anyone who thinks getting your *** kicked is somehow good for the psyche has a losing mentality. Either you do your job and bring it or you don't. This is not high school. You don't get to focus when you feel like it and receive participation points in the meantime.

Well it's only been two days.. We'll see if they keep that energy. I know the coaches will be hammering on the mistakes all week.. but that's the thing.. If these guys had championship level maturity they'd be hammering themselves already. They would all have showed up for lifting and stretching yesterday and then all adjourned to film study. And they would all be back there today despite it being their scheduled day off. Of course for all we know they all went right back to the facility after their hospital tours yesterday.. We just don't know..

This team has tons of experience getting punked in big games, they need the opposite to show them that they've progressed past the "pretender" status. Green Bay could have provided a baby step but instead it provided a reminder this team has a loser persona. Beat the eagles and beat the Titans,,, win out! Then maybe they can start to have some swagger and confidence. Guaranteed none of them are "smelling themselves", they remember what happened last year and the year before that and the year before that,,,

I think the houston game filled that order. It should serve as a real kick in the butt. The silver lining is we get a kick in the butt AND a win.
