I still kinda want one more loss

People won’t like this, but in a strange way I feel like our best shot at getting into the SB may be to get our butts kicked by Philly on the 24th.

We are very likely to have to go into Philly and win in late January either way. It may be better to be overlooked as a massive underdog. Maybe Mike can run with that narrative and get them on a roll.

Silly. Getting spanked at home creates nothing but doubt in the minds of these kids.

Frankly at this point I am of the mind that Jerry and 'nem should pay the fines for having the guys in pads the rest of the way. I think running around in shorts makes a team soft. I don't like it one bit. You don't have to hit.. but get closer to playing football.

Funny. My wife and I went to training every summer back in the 90s. Austin. Wichita falls. We had connections back then so we had credentials and we were able to watch practice from the field. Jimmy was yelling and cursing during practice... he never kept his foot off the pedal.

So long as it's not to the Eagles..

I still maintain that this team lacks the emotional maturity to go into the playoffs on an 8 game win streak. I'd much rather they drop one somewhere along the way to help them refocus. And perhaps more importantly to get the media off their nuts.
I just want their trajectory to keep them away from San Fran till nfccg

I don't know about loser persona.. I just know they've not handled prosperity well. Call it whatever you want.. If they spank these next four opponents and go into the playoffs on a high I will immediately think they're due for a letdown. I have no DESIRE to actually watch the Cowboys lose ANY game.. I am simply musing about what I perceive to be an issue with THIS team. Which is lack of maturity. We can all sit here and say "I want them to be this or that.. " I am simply dealing with who they are.. And who they are tells me that if they win out they will likely not be focused come playoff time. I don't have to like it to acknowledge it.

I hear you, there's a lot of moving parts to the psychology of this team and we're on the outside looking in. I have a hard time believing these guys will be underrating any playoff teams, they know they haven't proven themselves yet, if anything they need to erase the spectre of them losing when it counts,,, they need confidence through demonstrated ability.

eagles will be an interesting game....on the one hand if we lose, then end up playing them in the playoffs, away, does it mean that its harder to beat a team three times in one season...not sure if I buy into that theory myself.

I rathe beat them. in a hard fought game rather than a blow out. I think its harder for a team to lose a close game than being blown out because everything has to go wrong for you to lose in a blow out and that doesn't happen often.

Some around here think we lost last week

"The only thing you learn from losing is how to be a loser."

One of Vince Lombardi’s most famous quotes is, “show me a good loser and I will show you a loser.”

Unfortunately, his most famous quotes like, “winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing” were edited. Most are unfamiliar with the second half of his loser quote that reads, “But show me a gracious loser and I’ll show you someone who will always be a winner.” That addition drastically changes the meaning of what he was trying to say.

I can’t believe someone posted a thread hoping the Cowboys lose before going to the playoffs. Sometimes I think Stephen A. Smith is right about our fan base. The Cowboys will play a tough team in the playoffs it does not matter if we win the rest of our games or not. The Cowboys will have a good chance to beat that playoff opponent as well. No matter if the Cowboys win or lose in the playoffs the media is gonna find something wrong. Enjoy the ride we our 10-3 and play four solid football teams to end the season.

The Cowboys will definitely lose another game before the end of the season. Going into the playoffs on a roll is the recipe for postseason success. Losing in week 16 to the Cardinals last season certainly didn’t make the Cowboys more motivated for the playoffs. They had won 4 straight games prior to that loss. Losing games takes some steam out of you.

Pretty sure we went in on a roll in 2009, 2014, 2016, 2018 and lost each year in the same round. You are who you are come playoff time. We also limped in for the 2007 season and also lost same round as all the years I mentioned. The streak you are on going on really doesn't mean much. The better teams come playoff time usually win out as the playoffs go on.

Until Dallas' defense actually shows up come playoff time outside of the wild card round, we will go nowhere. Go back to every single divisional round loss since the Super Bowl winning era. Each time, defense has been garbage to say the least.
