I still think Henson can be our QB of the future.

Dunno about you, but I'd much rather root for the Cowboys hopeful successful future than thump my chest and be right about something to a bunch of people I've never met.

But that's just me.;)

Well, I'd rather thump my chest to people I've never met for calling positives, rather than negatives. :) As a fan, do you not thump your chest when your team succeeds? Do you not cheer along with strangers?

So I will continue to hope to thump my chest about Henson making it, because that means that we will not have to waste time nor money finding a successor to Bledose. :)

really I just see it as people not understanding that Hutchinson and Henson are completely different situations.

they get that "no more former baseball player" thing in their heads and you know, it sounds so good when they are drunk and ranting at the sports bar, that they bring that weak stuff to the board. of course, unlike their idiot friends who eat it up, some folks here actually can think critically about the issue and shoot them down over and over.

I think his Oline has been pretty decent and while his WR have dropped some balls, his TE 's have made some nice catches. (I like that Chris Samp kid, I hope the Eagles put him on the practice squad.)

He has 1 Int, which bounced off the WR's chest, but he should have had 1 or two in prior games so that is about right IMO.

Game 2 was a great "game management" and I think game 3 showed a bit more of his natural talent than game 2 did though, even though his stats were not that good.

A bit more command and touch on his short game will take him a long way. Many more weeks to go, and more experience for him too. If he does not continue to progress the rest of the year then I will worry about him, but if he does continue to progress and bring it all together I think the sky is the limit for him.

The fact that his has played only a limited amount of games since HS, to me, just shows that improvement through the season will be a very positive sign.

Henson did not look that good in his 1st game. But he has improved ALOT since then. I think overall he has done good. His OL bites and his WRs do not have very good hands.

Things I have seen about Henson I like -

He has a real good feel for pressure coming in and can make moves to buy time. This is a real biggie. If he can feel pressure in NFLE he will feel it in the NFL. You either have it or you dont with this.

He is getting faster at reading and reacting to defenses. He still needs some work but he is doing very good so far.

His short and medium passes look great. He also shows a very powerful arm when throwing on the run.

Shows a very strong arm. He can really sling that ball.

I know some are worried about his delivery but I am not. He gets the ball there and if you look closely you will see he does throw from different angles. When he throws the deep ball he comes over the top. I think he just throws from the angle he feels he has the best chance of completing the pass. He might come over the top on a short or medium pass or he might sidearm it. One thing is for sure...over the top or sidearm he can put serious heat on the ball either way.

His deep ball needs a little work. But I think more of those deep passes woulda been completed in the NFL. But he needs to work on that one more. But I think he will get better at this.

I think Henson is just gonna get better and better. It was HENSON that wanted to go Europe. Mad props to him for doin what he can to get better. He was never gonna get any much needed time like this with Parcells here. Good news is that Parcells might be in his last year and maybe with some luck Bob Stoops will be the new man in Dallas in 2007.

If Henson keeps improving and showing more then no matter how bad Parcells will want him gone Jerry Jones will not let it happen.

I will say this. If Bledsoe should get injured this year and is out 4 or more games.....he will not get his job back. Henson will have taken it over.

will never happen!!!!!!!

I really like ur optimism. and with no doubt Henson CAN be our starter! :D whomever runs the boat better, I go with. if its Bledsoe then go ahead. If its Henson who takes over , much better.

How ironic would it be if Bledsoe gets unseated by BOTH Michigan QB's...

Henson is a LONG ways from being a starter- QUALITY starter- in the NFL. AFTER the NFLE season is over we can look at his season and have a better idea. Right now there is no way.

I agree. I also think this upcoming training camp and pre-season will be just as important as what is going on in NFLE.

I agree too, I think that even if we can't see it in his stats every week, this will be looked back on as a good thing for Henson.

He needs to play football.

It's like nobody even watched Eli Manning's first 5-6 games in the NFL.

I still say that unless manning gets more accurate, he will never be all that.

True but he made a lot of progress from year 1 to year 2 going from 48.2% completion rate with 6 TD and 9 Ints to 52.8% completion rate and 24 TD and 17 Ints. I would consider that a pretty decent improvement in a 1 year span.

Thanks to Theebs we don't have to go by stats. We can actually watch him play and judge him by that.

He has improved and I can't believe some of you not rooting for him.

I think a lot of you think he's another Hutchinson but talent wise these guys aren't even in the same league.

Need I remind you that Buschbaum asked 10 NFL scouts who they'd take prior to Michael Vicks draft who they would take between Henson and Vick and 7 out of 10 scouts chose Henson.

And you know if he would've stayed all 4 years at Michigan there aint no way David Carr would've got chose over him.

For all you idiots out there ROOT FOR THIS GUY. He's a HUGE talent. Not Hutchinson type talent. We got lucky he went to baseball and failed because now we got a guy who would've been the #1 overall pick.

Just be patient and give it some time because you know what? I'm see'ing rust knocked off more and more each week and thats all we can ask.

And another thing I dont care if it is just Europe, even if Payton Manning was over there he wouldn't have a perfect game. You can only take whats given.

Also anyone who has given up on the guy after the Bears game knows absolutely nothing about Rookie QB's.

I also think some of you forgot Vinny came in and looked just as bad with 15 years of experience. Julius single handedly won us that game.

Funny you should mention this. I was just re-watching the first Giants game from this past season, and Troy commented on how careful Eli was being with the ball. Troy said Eli was erring on the side of caution and throwing away alot of balls VS throwing picks. He also said this was effecting his completion percentage. Common sense stuff, I know, but the same is being said about Henosn in Euroope and that FACT is being shot down by a lot of bashers as THEORY. Could Henson come in and start in the NFL right now? No I doubt it, not without a lot of growing pains. Is he knocking off rust and showing improvement in Europe? Yes, I think so. Will he even get a chance to go to camp with Dallas, and if so will he get a fair shot to beat out Romo? I have no idea, but I am hoping and praying he does get the chance and fulfills his potential on both counts.

Wow you quit on him after just one game.

Maybe with some luck when the Cowboys lose their 1st game you will give up on this team to and be some other teams fan.

As for Henson the thing that I think is real big is that he can feel the pressure coming in on him. You either have that or you dont.

theHowey - Yeah I would like Brady Quinn to but I think Henson is gonna be a real good one if give the chance.

like I've said before HEnson went to NFLE, success or failure this spring means absolutely nothing in determining future success, or failure in the NFL, it's just live action, something he won't see as long as Bledsoe is here, but I must say, it's going pretty well, not great, but not bad, for Henson, it's a good learning experience and it's helping him knock the rust off
