I suspect they will load up on offensive skill talent this offseason

The Cowboys are going to do exactly what they've been doing. They made it to the divisional round without having to do any work as GMs. Why would they change anything? They'll dip their pinky toes in free agency once the market has cooled, pick a need in the first round, take an injured project or head case in the second, and then have an otherwise whelming draft. The Cowboys will be in the division race the entire season and remain relevant and in the news cycle. Rinse. Repeat.
agree.....and Jerry and Stephen will remain happy and filthy rich.....same old song and dance.....

What about all those tough yards? Thought your coaching experience could see what we couldn't with Zeke. LMAO.
Zeke can still serve a purpose, but he's to expensive....i don't belittle players...I wait til after the season to evaluate. You can't do anything about during the season. Unlike fans like you that don't know a dang thing and think Jerry is listening to your crying. LMAO! Keep crying, we can use the rain down here in South Texas

It was the two interceptions and lack of a great 1T that caused the loss. Same as last year.

They will load up on offensive skill talent. Jerry and his son saw how ineffective Dak was at times so they know they have to give him a ton of weapons to hopefully improve his play and justify the massive contract/cap hit he has.

Schultz will probably be too expensive but I suspect Pollard is now a very realistic candidate to be back, not on a tag, but a regular contract given his injury. Lamb and Gallup are back for sure given Lamb is a stud and Gallup just got paid. But I suspect you could see them using a first or 2nd round pick on a WR in the draft. Maybe a TE if someone like Mayer falls to them.

Interesting offseason for sure. I think they could use more help on defense but Dak's issues last night likely means the Jones' are going to be hyperfocused on giving him enough weapons to help him become more consistent.
I don’t care what they provide that quarterback.

He’s useless when the stakes are high.

LOL.

Trading up for a TB.

That's sooooooo Cowboys.
Yeah this team needs offensive weapons that take the pressure off of the qb. Trading up 4-7 slots is worth it in my mind.

Sorry you live in a horrible part of Texas. But you've already shown that your football IQ is nothing special. Stevie Wonder could see Zeke has been washed for 2 years. But somehow you thought that Zeke was a powerful back thrashing defenses. Lol.

The defiantly need new weapons. Once Pollard went down you only had Lamb. Since we can get rid of Dak the best bet is to fire Moore and the offensive staff. It’s time for a change. They are both two buddies that are almost the same age and Dak needs a coach, not a friend.

NO the Cowboys won't load up on anything. The Joneses are going to use the Cowboys advancing to the divisional round as their excuse for why they don't have to change or do anything different this offseason. Just watch.

1) It is not that bad as regards cap space
2) you clearly have not been paying attention
3) How well has it worked for us? Time to change
1) 2023 cap is in terrible shape unless you plan on letting a lot of guys walk and pushing more money into future years. They have some players they can move on from to open up space, but Steele, LVE, Wilson, Pollard, Schultz, McGovern, Brown are all starters in walk years that you have to either sign or come up with a plan B. Some are easier to replace than other, but most on this list will get significant pay increases too.

2) I'm pretty happy with Sam WIlliams. I'm pretty happy with the Diggs pick. Even going back to the Connor WIlliams, Chido, Gregory type picks these are all very good players in this league. The Cowboys moved on and took the comp picks, but that doesnt mean they were busts. I have a hard time believing many teams have had more success over the last 10 years than the Cowboys in round 2.

3) So what do you want to change? Are you just moving on from the current FA group and strictly looking externally? I know I feel a lot better about this team with Wilson, Pollard, LVE, and Steele coming back.

In fairness, Gallup wouldn't be the first or last player that struggled coming off major knee surgery. I wouldn't toss him to the trash just yet.

That being said, the Gallup situation highlights the stupidity of the Jones and the Jones apologists on this board thinking that WR was just fine in August. Hey guys, Gallup will be back in October! It's all good!! LOL.
I agree. I'd give him another season. We've seen what he is capable of as a WR, I just think this year didn't work out for him with his injury/missing camp/preseason/etc.*

*I still find new players for WR though

They resigned a WR that wasn't even all that fast "before" his major injury and surgery.....yet, they give him a pile of money. He currently looks like one of the slowest WR I've ever seen coming off the line of scrimmage and in breaks...I honestly can't tell sometimes if he is running or jogging.
Before getting hurt, his numbers were right in line with most #2 WRs. Dumping on him in a season after coming off major knee surgery is peculiar to me. If he stinks next year, then sure, have at it. But like I said, it's really not strange or uncommon for a guy to come off knee surgery and take a season to find himself.

So many factors detrimental to successful off-season:
- Jerry’s massive ego to be a recognized “football guy”
- Dak’s massive contract and potential cap hit
- Significant number of upcoming free agents
- And of course the FO mantra: “we like our guys”

Dak is clearly not the guy; he has had 7 years to prove himself and has not; he is being paid to be elite, but Dak requires a strong supporting cast to be performing well in order for him to play well…last night he had to put the team on his back once Pollard went out and failed to do so.

It doesn’t mattter who they “ load up” . Dak is incapable of advancing team. He doesn’t have the footballs IQ or the skills to do it .

How many times have they dedicated resources to helping Dak.....only to see the same result time and time again.

"Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"....the definition of insanity.

Totally agree!! Give it up fix the d

If we sign Noah Brown to another 1 year deal to start free agency I know they're not serious about winning. It's time to move on from guys like this just because you can get him for cheap.

You KNOW they will not sign any expensive FA's; dumpster diving as usual.
You KNOW they will reach for the 2nd rd pick
YOU KNOW they will sign our own to over sized contracts because WE LIKE OUR GUYS

2nd round pick will have character issues or used to get bullied lol

I’m a big Zeke guy but he’s used up and a shell of himself. Reminds me of Earl Campbell at the end. He should be gone.

They need all the picks they can get since they are again tight to the cap.

You can't be trading 2nd or 3rd round picks to move up spots for a TB.
