I suspect they will load up on offensive skill talent this offseason

Wouldn't surprise me. Put a lot of shiny pieces in place when the foundation needs to be upgraded and made impenetrable to cover for the QB.

Can't ignore the defense problems as well. Going to be insanely hard with Daks cap hit

While the defense played great agaisnt TB and SF they have glaring issues as well. TB was argurably one of the worst teams in the playoffs in recent history. SF while loaded with talent was still lead by a 3rd string last pick rookie.

I mean we can't surrond Dak with pro bowl talent everywhere. He needs to pick up his skirt and do something for once

Lol...when is the last time this team "loaded up" on weapons? Even when we had money?

The Prescott-Moore combo needs to be dissolved with haste. We've seen enough. They have hit the wall with this combo at present. I can agree on RB/o-line. The thing is...sooner or later you meet a defense that stifles the run and then you are left with the same problems that the running game kept under wraps. An inconsistent quarterback.
Not sure I agree with you about Moore. As OC you make the call but you need QB to execute. Dak didn't execute yesterday. Bad throw to an open Gallop. Two bad INTs but probably should have been 4 as he forced throws or bad reads.

Prescott can make "some" plays on his own. But he can't not be relied upon to constantly carry the team. Dominating RB and OL allow him to be who he is..... game manager with occasional ability to make plays.

I'll take that bet Jerry doesn't sign first tier free agents.

They will load up on offensive skill talent. Jerry and his son saw how ineffective Dak was at times so they know they have to give him a ton of weapons to hopefully improve his play and justify the massive contract/cap hit he has.

Schultz will probably be too expensive but I suspect Pollard is now a very realistic candidate to be back, not on a tag, but a regular contract given his injury. Lamb and Gallup are back for sure given Lamb is a stud and Gallup just got paid. But I suspect you could see them using a first or 2nd round pick on a WR in the draft. Maybe a TE if someone like Mayer falls to them.

Interesting offseason for sure. I think they could use more help on defense but Dak's issues last night likely means the Jones' are going to be hyperfocused on giving him enough weapons to help him become more consistent.
Yes because dak should be able to beat the 49ers by himself with only Kellen's mega brain.

Dak only qb in the league not allowed to have weapons.

Going to be a long off season.

You are just compounding the problem throwing money and a high pick at a TB. Did we learn nothing from Zeke?

If you have to use a first round pick on a TB, then that tells you a crap ton about your QB.
We did fine drafting Zeke even though I was against it. The mistake isn't drafting Zeke..... it was extending his contract.

They were WR hunting within the season, think they would like to add a legitimate starter at the position, may even be more of a veteran not a draft pick. I believe Pollard will be back, but I wouldn't close the door on Shultz just yet. As for the defense, it's about retaining a few veterans and shoring up both DT and Corner. Those I believe the top 3 priority needs.

Its ok to admit that Dak had a horrible game. He did.

Its ok to admit this FO failed yet again. They did.

Its ok to also blame KM. He sucked yesterday and that game plan made 0 sense.

The injury to Pollard was cheap, and nobody in the media is talking about it. I don't care that we lost, anymore. But that injury on Pollard needs to be discussed. We've seen dirty players in the NFL get barred for multiple intentional injuries...san fran should be watched.

Schultz can get the heck out of town today for all I care. Him not getting both feet in on a routine catch has to go down as one of the dumbest plays a player has made in the playoffs. Ever.

There was enough from Dak last night that have zero to do with who his weapons were. Was it the lack of weapons that had him force a ball into double coverage before the end of the half? Nope. That was all on him and he stared down the WR (I believe it was Lamb).

Was it lack of weapons that forced him to make another bad throw on the first interception? That was another forced throw.

Was it lack of talent on offense that forced him to stare down another WR and almost give up an easy pick 6? Luckily Greenlaw had stone for hands.

Was it lack of weapons that caused him to totally miss Ty Hilton for a TD? Or make a poor throw to Lamb where a better throw may have allowed him to score? Or throw a ball 4 yards behind Gallup late when Gallup was breaking wide open?

I figured it would only take 24 hours for the Dak homers to start shifting blame from Dak and putting it on the WRs and Moore. Moore wasn't great. The skill talent wasn't perfect. But Dak was terrible and the biggest problem and did things that had little to do with who the OC was or who is WR was.

Load up on the one side of the ball and neglect the other. New offseason, same story

Your definition of very good players is VERY LOW
Who did I list that isn't a good player? Feels like you have unrealistic expectations. Not all 2nd round picks are going to be all pro guys, even some listed I'm glad the Cowboys moved on from. I mean Randy Gregory wasn't worth the money he got, but between what he gave the Cowboys and the comp pick they'll get for him he was worth the pick. You have to keep in perspective that drafting is a very low percentage gamble to being with. I need to get some updated data, but I know just a few years ago the numbers were showing about 60% of 2nd round picks were out of the league before their rookie deals were finished. Since 2014 every single Cowboys 2nd round pick is still on an NFL roster. The Bruce Carter/Gavin Escobar days seem to be in the rear view mirror.

I agree that was a dumb move. BUT I don't think Cooper wins the game for us. 49er game was too "fast" for Dak. He was rushing through progressions and throwing too late. He the type of QB who needs to see the guy "open" before delivering the ball instead of "throwing" the guy open. Dak can get away facing "regular season defenses" but much harder in the playoffs.

We needed a dominating Running Game for Dak to succeed. Our chances went down the tube after Pollard went down.

And that it true of Dak. But the Cowboys have zero personnel to back any safeties or defenders off the line and the boys are worst in the league at yards after a catch. Amari has the ability to open up the field, like Cd he can play from any spot but unlike any Cowboys player Cooper can get yards after a catch. Not trying to knock CD at all but he's not the guy who can turn a 3 yard catch into a 60 yard Td. Gallup unable to catch deep passes like he used too took away the deeper part of the field which helps defenses keep things in front of them. Cooper still needs someone to get him the ball but they are so much better with him than without.

Lamb is good after the catch. It was one of his strengths coming out of college. To say he can't turn a 3 yard pass into a long play is just inaccurate.

The lack of YAC is tied to the fact that yes, outside of Lamb, we don't have much. But also the QB simply isn't consistent/accurate enough to get guys into a situation where they can make plays with the ball in their hands.

Jerry will go after OBJ is my guess and bring back as much of the crew as he can
