I think Adrian Peterson is not coming to Dallas

Zimmer said he would like RB Peterson back IF Peterson also wants to come back. And the Vikings have to make a decision if they want to pay so much for a RB. Peterson is bitter with the Vikings because of the way they treated him.

I think, in the end, the Vikings just decide to part with Peterson and give him a new start. Best for both parties. I think the same is going to happen with DL Hardy of the Panthers. Don't know if either will be here. Just have to wait and see. I do think it is pretty evident that Peterson would like to play for the Cowboys if possible. He and Jerry are friends. I could see Seattle dumping Lynch and going with Peterson. I see the Lions making a play for Peterson.

The Ravens divorced themselves from Rice. Same with the Panthers and Hardy IMO. And the same probably with Peterson.

Minny owes him 3 years and 45m, but none of it is guaranteed

He only has 2.4m in dead Money left on the entire deal and Minny could cut him and save 13m against the cap

They like McKinnon and Asiata and didn't fight the League at all over the suspension. I could see them walking away

None of that matters when hes Minny's Obi Wan

Other teams driving up the price is more of a factor in AD not coming here than anything else

If he hits the market, multiple teams will be interested

The site where BB goes for information...just kidding but he isn't staying. Per sportsworld report.com

The Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson could be headed for a split in the future with a trade or release and if that happens in 2015 teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks all could be interested in picking him up and this comes as DeMarco Murray is set to hit the free agent market.
The Vikings are coming into the offseason with numerous questions, but they appear to have a long term quarterback option with Teddy Bridgewater and they also have Mike Zimmer staying as head coach. According to ESPN.com, Zimmer said after the season that he hopes Peterson will return to the Vikings and he said that he will be welcome if he makes a return in 2015. Peterson can apply for reinstatement in April and that will be his next chance to get back into the NFL.

Peterson appealed his indefinite suspension but the league, but that appeal was denied and after that happened he said that he considered retiring from the league. Zimmer said that he supported Peterson and that is big considering that sources said earlier in the season that Peterson likely would be gone following his legal case. That was before the running back reached a plea agreement in the case and was on the exempt list and now Peterson will have to figure out what his next move will be if it's not with the Vikings.

Peterson said in an interview after the season that he considered retiring after the way the appeals process went and he also mentioned that a "fresh start" could be good for both sides. Peterson would be a major target on the free agent market, as he is considered to be a productive player despite his age, which is getting to 30, the age running backs usually start breaking down. Peterson is set to make over $12 million next season and he costs even more on the cap and that could lead to his eventual release. The team has Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata and both of those players performed well with Peterson out this season and they come much cheaper than AP does.

Peterson has been one of the best running backs in NFL history during the course of his career and he has been as consistent as anyone at his position. Peterson has rushed for at least 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns in every season in his career that hasn't been cut short by injury or a legal case and he comes in after putting up 75 yards in one game in 2014. Peterson had 1266 yards and 2097 yards in each of the previous two seasons, scoring 22 touchdowns in that span.

If he wants to play here and he hits the market, and if we offer him a decent offer, he'll be here. When his a FA its up to him where he wants to play if money isn't an issue.

There was a very reasonable chance that Minny was going to cut him this off season without the off the field stuff. With it I think its probably close to 100% that they at least want him to take a pay cut.

RBs in this league don't get to have 15 million dollar cap charges. 15 to keep, get back 12 if you cut. That math is pretty easy.

It makes too much sense for the Vikings to release him. He's a huge cap number, and they're not ready to contend.

I think they release him and save the $12 million.

Exactly.

This thread is supposed to be news to anyone?

Let us know when the Vikings agree to pay his $15 million in salary for next year.

Neither the Vikings nor any other team in the league is paying that.

I officially jumped on the AP bandwagon around the second quarter of that Packers game.
