I think Jerry is taking spite out at the fans

I think in his diluded mind he is mad at the fans for not accepting his sales pitches anymore. He feels that he should be respected because he is the owner, and he thinks he has done enough to earn that respect. In his mind the Cowboys ruled the NFC East during the last eighteen seasons, and he thinks that should be enough. Never mind that the East has been the weakest division in the NFL during that time.
But each time one of the teams from the East rose to greatness, the Cowboys couldn't compete. The Giants won two Super Bowls. The Eagles won two and went to a third. The Commanders are now back at the top, as well.
So I think what you are seeing is Jerry's way of lashing out at the fans to teach them a lesson. No one should dare question his loyalty to Jason Garrett, and how dare fans complain about him giving Dak Prescott the richest contract in NFL history despite proving to be a fake quarterback.
He is signing no name players to one year deals, and refusing to build the team to championship caliber.
Maybe after a year or two of losing fans will be sorry for questioning him and learn to appreciate his greatness and not question him.
Maybe they'll even put a statue of him outside Cowboys stadium next to Tom Landry.
What else would you expect from a curmudgeon in his golden years? He's a diminished old fool that thinks his best possible football operations partners are his family. Thank God we have Will McClay in the front office to manage the circus.

Jerry cares about the Cowboys’ Forbes valuation; net operating revenue and that the Cowboys remain relevant for whatever reason in the national media. He throws around buzz words and tells the fans what they want to hear…deftly giving those that continue to believe false hope year after year.
Whether or not the Cowboys win a playoff game is an ancillary benefit.
And I think Stephen will be a worse GM than Jerry, so I fear nothing will change when Jerry leave this earth.
