Will this be Dak's best season?

Dak can have a statistically good season , it won't change the fact that he chokes in big games. He could break a thousand passing records during the regular season but come playoff time , he`d choke ! The better question should be , Will this be Dak's last season?

If Fitzpatrick were a Cowboy in 2015, he could have equaled or bettered Dak. Most NFL quarterbacks could have, given that team.
Dak Prescott isn't some poor lamb who has been put on a team that has 0 talent and his peers around him have won with just as much or less.
These are the key facts. Anything that Dak has accomplished or will accomplish this year isn't any better than a number of other QB's would have given the same situations.

His beloved tried for years to make it out as if he were doing something magical. Cooper quashed all that on the field. No hypotheticals, proven.

Guys like Dak only go as far as the rest of the team carries him. When it's time for him to pull the load, the offseason is about to begin.

Agree, but this is the last chance to prove HIS worth and the FO have covered all the excuses. Rid of MM, a strong middle O-line, varied running game and passing options. Expecting to see a marked improvement from him over the below average Rating/QBR/COMP% in 2024.
Jerry's made the mess, but has tried to give Dak every chance.....personally it's 2025 or never. If the Offense doesnt get to 2023 levels Jerry either runs a dead franchise walking, or he bites the bullet, drafts a QB and somewhat sacrifices 2026

Yes, Jerry made the mess by not acknowledging that Dak wasn't the guy and moving on. One bad decision can truly sink a franchise's hopes.

I think they will look like a better team this year. But given the division & schedule overall, I'm skeptical it will show up in the W\L's.

Yep, I hope this is the year where they'll decide on whether a Dak run Offense (with the contract) is good enough to base a serious challenge in 2026.
As you say 2025 isnt the year and in a way it's a 'show us' year, whether there's enough to continue with Dak, re-sign Pickens.

Jerry doesn't believe in defense unfortunately, which is ironic since the best way to help Dak would be to fix the defense. If the team only needs 21pts to win the game we'll be winning a lot of games... Even with just our kicker!
I think the defense will be better than most think it will be.

This year will tell us a lot, Dak will be 32 this year coming off one of his worst seasons. I personally think he's already declining, it seems most qbs really hit that wall at around 35 or sooner

Are you anticipating this happening?
Well if he doesn't where do we go? The rumors of TMAC and then trading for Pickens somewhat confirms that Schotty, McClay, Jones believe Dak needs.... if he can't perform with Pickens (a concrete IOL and a varied run game).....what options do we have.
I'm a Dak-skeptic, but at least this way he gets a last chance to convince us.
Jerry's desperate enough to give him a WR2 to help him perform.... the interesting questions are:
1) if the gamble works (and presumably the passing game improves) is Jerry willing to give Pickens the money to stay.
2) If Dak doesn't perform is Jerry willing to cut Dak in March.... which will save Jerry $100m (27/28), but will mean he accepts his mistake and will be paying Dak $40m to play 2026 for someone else.

Say what you want about the Cowboys chances if getting back to the playoffs or getting over the playoff hump.

Say what you want about having a new coaching staff or potential weaknesses at DT, OT or CB.

If I'm Dak Prescott, I'm looking at this season as a chance be my best. I've got 2 of the best WRs in the game. I've got weapons like Turpin and Blue with speed to burn. I've got a coach Schotty that isn't going to let me abandon the running game. I've got the best interior OL protection I've had since my rookie season. All I have to do is get that ball out of my hands quick and stay healthy.

Can he do that? If he can and the team can stay healthy, he has every chance to have his best season,

What say you?
Dak had great seasons in 2021 and 2023 and 2022 was good too. Until last year (due IMO to no running game or #2 WR), Dak had 3 great seasons in a row.

It’s the big playoff games that he doesn’t show.

I will say when his contract is over in 3 years, he will no longer be the QB of this team.
