Bring him back? This isn’t the first time we’ve been here. This is 3 straight years now. It is time to move on.

Jerry isn’t stupid. He knows sticking with MM is gonna make the fans mad… I’d even go so far as to say some will flat out not watch the team next year.

After having some time to think about it, I don't believe Jerry will fire McCarthy for two reasons and these are Jerry reasons not necessarily sensible ones.

1) He'll look to the improvement on offense in just the first year with Mike in charge. He'll expect growth in year 2. He won't want to give up on that. He'd see it as a disservice to his QB. Who he's about to pay again.

2) McCarthy will be coaching out his final year of his contract in 2024. Jerry's mentioned in the past liking this scenario as it's a great motivator for a coach.

This is how Jerry thinks. It will take some effort from his advisors to get him to change direction right now. He won't want to do it and I don't think some conversation he had with Bill Belichick in 1996 plays any part in this.

Another go for McCarthy in a make or break year. That's my prediction.
So we suffer another year of choking, wonderful.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall with all these looming decisions.

Is it far-fetched that, with Dak's contract situation, part of McCarthy's plea to keep the job could be that he's the guy who can get Lance to do what Love did for LeFleur?

I think this is right, Jerry will wait for things to cool off and start to sing the tune that continuity is the way to go. My hope is that getting Belichick here would be too tempting to pass, but I won't hold my breath.

If Quinn departs and McCarthy remains as HC, the big dilenma is replacing Quinn as DC .. dunno if the club
would prefer Quinn like DCs in Joe Witt jr. ..or go after name brand DCs that are adept at run defense.

You do not want to leave the DC hiring up to McCarthy ala Mike Nolan. Management will lead the search for
a new DC.

Also McCarthy will need serious revamping of his own offensive staff - aiming at OL coach, run game coach
and RB coach.

Yup. We're talking about losing money now. Losing football games is fine for him, losing money not so much.

you may be right. but you need to move to a 3-4. put hankins at NT and 2 3Ts on the ends, move DLAW to OLB with Parsons and get a Thumper for ILB and someone that can move side line to sideline this 3-1-7 formation has to go we are getting gashed on the running game which sets up playaction and other passing.
Wink Martindale's available.

This is precisely how JJ thinks. You are more than likely right— and I will hate you for it lol

Our only hope is that the stink of that beatdown embarrasses him into going into “wild-catter” mode where gambler Jerrah comes out…

The fact this team will be roasted in the media for the next week and speculation will increase as long as Harbaugh and BB are out there might create a scenario where JJ rolls the dice.

But I doubt it.

The D will take the blame. DQ will go to Seattle. And JJ will likely sell a new DC and “year 2” in Magic Mike’s offense as reasons for optimism

I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Jerry came to this conclusion, mainly because it’s the wrong decision. There is no way this coaching staff should be brought back. And the next HC should also have the authority to decide what to do w the qb. The latter is a big reason why you might be right. It’s the easy way out for Jerry. Loser.
The OC will be fired and Mike will run the offense fully

I don’t know how many times it will take fans here to understand that Jerry Jones does not think like a fan. He thinks like a guy who wants first and foremost to play with his toy every day any way he sees fit. And he will always look for a head coach - first and foremost - to make him feel comfortable doing what he wants to do.

Every fan who thinks “Jerry is mad” and is going to fire McCarthy doesn’t realize that’s not what he’s thinking tonight. He’s wondering if he can still keep Big Mac around for his comfort while hoping fans will forget by July that this even happened.

Like you Risen I expect come July we will have an 81 year old Jerry Jones smiling broadly at his “State of the Cowboys“ address in “Ox-nerd” telling us his high expectations and why we should all buy sand from him again in this desert called “the last 28 years.”

And the fans will come back in droves.

If quinn leaves It is scary to think who they might bring in to replace him.

As bad as this defense was during this game I think people forget how bad it was before quinn got here.

And McCarthy on offense is not really the problem.

It is Him not preparing the team, consistently putting together a team that always has penalty issues. Terrible game/time management and too cozy with the players.

This team needs a HC that is more of a disciplinarian and one who will get this team to quit killing itself with penalties and game timing issues.

Sometimes a team needs a change

Sadly the real change that is need is not going to happen so we can forget about that...in other words Big and Little Enos are not going anywhere.
