I keep thinking, there is not just a coaching issue. So, as a result of no obvious solution, I will watch, Silence of the lambs, Titanic and one my most relevant movies, One of flew over the Cuckoo's nest.... Keep thinking of 28 years... 28 years... Sad and it does not matter

I think this is right, Jerry will wait for things to cool off and start to sing the tune that continuity is the way to go. My hope is that getting Belichick here would be too tempting to pass, but I won't hold my breath.
In fairness to MM, when you've got a head case for a QB you're destined to fail and if MM's axed he won't be the first coach fired because of that QB. Unfortunately there's also a head case at GM who is forever destined to paint the team into a corner with ill-advisable contracts and mind-numbing roster choices. I do like the idea of hiring Belicheck though because he'd be able to exercise greater control, bring in good coordinators, and hopefully mentor a successor.

Watch the first 10 minutes of this and try and come up with one reason that the Conman or Dork should remain....you just can't.

Great clip and ya some of us who could see and dare to tell the tale (knowing the abuse we would receive here) Kudos and strength and Honor!
The elephant in the locker room needs to be gone!

After having some time to think about it, I don't believe Jerry will fire McCarthy for two reasons and these are Jerry reasons not necessarily sensible ones.

1) He'll look to the improvement on offense in just the first year with Mike in charge. He'll expect growth in year 2. He won't want to give up on that. He'd see it as a disservice to his QB. Who he's about to pay again.

2) McCarthy will be coaching out his final year of his contract in 2024. Jerry's mentioned in the past liking this scenario as it's a great motivator for a coach.

This is how Jerry thinks. It will take some effort from his advisors to get him to change direction right now. He won't want to do it and I don't think some conversation he had with Bill Belichick in 1996 plays any part in this.

Another go for McCarthy in a make or break year. That's my prediction.
Totally agree. It makes sense for Dak and the Offense.

Yet, Jerry can still have Belichick if Belichick is willing to be D-Coordinator? Dan Quinn and his Rod Marinelli type of Defense needs to go.

This is the head scratcher for me. It’s borderline sabotage. The DBs looked like they had no clue what they were doing out there.
yup, this was not the same defense we saw regular season, so many blown coverages but not sure why scheme change now. But for one, our safeties are horrible. Passing on wagner at lb was a big mistake

you may be right. but you need to move to a 3-4. put hankins at NT and 2 3Ts on the ends, move DLAW to OLB with Parsons and get a Thumper for ILB and someone that can move side line to sideline this 3-1-7 formation has to go we are getting gashed on the running game which sets up playaction and other passing.
Worth a look, I’ve though about that too, but we would need more ILB and don’t know if we have enough 3-4 ends on the team.

Bring him back? This isn’t the first time we’ve been here. This is 3 straight years now. It is time to move on.

Jerry isn’t stupid. He knows sticking with MM is gonna make the fans mad… I’d even go so far as to say some will flat out not watch the team next year.
I wish people would stop going to the games, hurt Jerry’s pockets….even still, he’s so damn arrogant he would probly double down on stupidity.

Spoiler alert: nothing is going to happen and nothing will change. We’re going to resign Dak Preschoke for a NFL record setting contract, then we’re going to sign CD to a record setting WR contract and Parsons to a record setting defensive contract. We’ll win 9-12 games because the nfc east is weak and lose in the WC round and next year after the game we’ll be discussing who should be fired.

Nothing is going to change because Jerry is a terrible owner and GM and he cares more about being a celebrity than winning.

If any fan of the Cowboys thinks Jerry Jones will sacrifice control and being a celebrity for football victories is not paying attention to the pattern. It’s an exercise in emotional self mutilation to wish and hope Jerry will change. It ain’t happening guys.

It would no surprise me if this is his mentality and thus we get more of the same and another guaranteed post season bounce assuming we even get that far.

The only good about this scenario is that this team will get worse next year and the team may get better draft picks . Not that they necessarily will use them .
if MM and Dak stay , this team is in trouble

I don't think it matters. This team has gone through coach after coach and can't get it right. I wonder what might be the real problem?
In the fans eyes? The QB, always the QB lol. We went from Quincy Carter, Bledsoe, Testaverde, Romo, Dak. All the same result, losers when it matters.

Dak is going to get trashed. And for good measure. Another playoff game dud. But this goes well beyond him. Especially on the other side of the ball. Defense is beyond bad.

We also have to be one of the lowest IQ teams out there. Bone headed penalties at the worst times. This is a culture problem.

I think he goes. Although I can see how Jerry might 'frame' it like we just need a good new DC. Maybe draft a running back that's over 5'4". Show the progress of Overshown's injury rebab. Some Zeke like cone drills with Tony Pollard.
