Im starting to get a feeling talks didnt go as planned. Dallas started negotiations and nothing materialized and a couple days later Dallas signed Keith Rivers. Now word coming out that Dallas is very interested in Benardick McKinney. Which would be a nice pick at the end of round 1.

I know everybdy likes Durant but i dont think Dallas offered the money he wanted. Or he wanted to test out the market first.

I was thinking the same thing, that final negotiations didn't go well and he'll be testing the market, and Keith Rivers was signed as insurance.

Liking McKinney late in round 1 for the Cowboys, he's not exactly Dexter Coackley but he's still a smaller 4/3 Mike than McClain.

Way to turn a strength into a weakness. Defense was solid but pass rush needed improvement. Get rid of Moore, Durant, McClain and Carter. Now pass rush, LBers and secondary needs improvement.

They probably needed players at all of those positions no matter what anyways. CB and DL have been high priority needs for some time now. LB has been mentioned as well so I don't think much has changed.

B Mckinneys stock has been going way down. I seriously doubt he goes rd 1 and I'm starting to doubt rd 2. If he is the pick at 27, I would be highly disappointed.

Apparently he blew it up at his proday. And the cowboys are very intersted.

Give Durant an extra mill. Done.

lol six games gives him an extra mil? I would think 6games gives him vet minimum. The guy has been with Dallas for 2 yrs, and has missed 16 games.

2 yrs in dallas
45 solo tackles 5pdef 1 int. Thats the total in 2 yrs.

He was playing very well in those 6 games until his injury. And there was a drop off in the D after he went out. Though not a great dropoff, but it was noticed. But then again that also could been in part by all the other nagging injuries to MCClain and others in some form of combination.
But his play was missed regardless.

But agree, not worth another million. He was a FA going into last year too, and IIRC he wasn't a priority signing right away last year.

Durant will be back

I agree. He's pushing 30 and has missed time (been hurt) the last two years. He might
find the water pretty cold out there in FA and the sharks smell blood. He might just swim
back hat in hand!

He is an oft injured LB that is 31 with Hitchens coming on and the rivers signing they still have positional flex.

Hitchens will end up the starter..you watch.

Lee goes to Strong side LBer..

Hitchens to the middle and Rivers backs up.

Durant is allowed to go as is McLain.

We draft somebody in the mid-rounds and move on.

Let him. He had a better season his last year in Detroit, was only 27 and look how much he got on the open market in 2013

Durant has missed a ton of games his two years in Dallas. In my mind he's as much of an injury risk as Lee and McClain. I bet he tests free agency and comes back to Dallas. If he doesn't, then it's no great loss.

There's no big reason to sign Durant until after the draft. Someone like Shaq Thompson might fall in our lap.

Interest in McKinney might be as a DE.
