Frustrating player ALWAYS hurt
Hitchens will end up the starter..you watch.
Lee goes to Strong side LBer..
Hitchens to the middle and Rivers backs up.
Durant is allowed to go as is McLain.
We draft somebody in the mid-rounds and move on.
We better sign durant or were 2 lbers down. Not going to find a guy as good as him around that price or even close.
He is an oft injured LB that is 31 with Hitchens coming on and the rivers signing they still have positional flex.
The Rivers signing has nothing to do with Durant. He came to us and offered to play here for the vet minimum. I think the Durant rumors were premature but correct. I think he will be back. The LB we are almost sure to lose is Carter.
True, but the fact he can play the SLB and WLB in a pinch sure does add to leverage.
Only if he can start over Durant, which I am not so sure he can. He's depth that we need. Durant was a team captain, meaning leadership.
Exactly take his money add an extra mill and bring back Carter
I like Carter alot. I dont know if they want him back. As strange as it might sound
Way to turn a strength into a weakness. Defense was solid but pass rush needed improvement. Get rid of Moore, Durant, McClain and Carter. Now pass rush, LBers and secondary needs improvement.
Holy overreaction.

No team is busting the bank for Durant. I think there is a good probability that he signs a one-year contract with the Cowboys after he finds that there just isn't that much out there for an aging and often injured LB. Dallas is probably the best place for him to play under a one-year contract.
The Boys have made a philosophical decision to go younger, due to contract savings and less injury worries. Therefore, the price for a leader who's a backup is just not going to be very high.
They also have new-found confidence in their talent evaluation skills, and they most likely have their eyes on some attractive draft prospects.
We do need to pay for depth, but not if the player is rarely going to see the field, due to the system or injury (except QB). This brings to mind our under utililization of Durant, Randle, Hanna, and Escobar. If they don't excell at special teams, then it's difficult to justify their pay after the rookie contract is up.
So, looking at our fragile LB corps (not corpse),
We should be drafting some to get healthier anyway, as well as adding them to ST. RoMac is still low-mileage, so he's worth bringing back if his head is right, and Carter is finally learning the system, but both may choose to leave for bigger pay days. I think we need to balance youth with experience, and sign one of those two.
