I think we have more than 6 wins this season if Cooper Rush starts week 1

No one in here is saying rush won these games, Everyone always tells us its a team game. Win and losses can't be blamed on 1 portion of the team as a lot of people have said on here.
Agreed. I think the idea that Rush is the reason the Cowboys have won these games and the idea that the Cowboys can win with Rush are two completely different things.

In the end most teams that give up less than 20 points in a game are going to win games at an extremely high rate regardless of the QB. We glorify the QB, but defenses are essential in this league.

It just tells me how poor dak is if cooper can come in and do the same
He can’t do the same, he’s just doing different. And beating up on the worst team in the league. But you’re right that’s what Prescott does too, this team sucks.

There is perhaps an outside possibility that they Cowboys would have been more patient with the run with Rush starting from the jump? Maybe.. but that's the only possible thing that might have changed .. Does it change the outcome of any of the games? I seriously doubt it. The Panthers have the 32nd ranked scoring defense in the league. The Giants are 20th. The Bengals are 31st. The Commodores are 16th and we still needed two special teams TDs to beat them. The only good defenses we've faced in the last 6 weeks were Philly (1st) and Houston (9th). We all saw how the offense looked against those two defenses. Anybody attempting to pretend the defenses faced in the first 8 weeks were similar to these chumps we've faced the last 4 weeks need they butt whupped. And to pretend that the defense actually showing up for the game hasn't been a huge change too? It's hard to take any who makes that argument seriously.
The weird thing is McCarthy's playcalling seems to have been better since Rush took over. Like you said, when Dak was the QB they gave Dowdle a couple early carries, decided it wasn't working, and went throw, throw, throw all game long. Never stuck to a balanced attack.

Like others have said here, even Dak supporters like myself need to admit he was not having a good year. But McCarthy needs to take his share of the blame. In my opinion he set Dak up to fail.

Having said all this, I agree with you the quality of competition lately has also made the offense look better too. So maybe it's a little bit of everything at work here- better playcalling, worse defenses, also the offensive line finally gelling.

6-8 and not even I think we have a chance at playoffs. Technically not eliminated but it’s not happening. That aside, we could technically be in the hunt still if Cooper Rush started this season. I think with Cooper Rush under center, this team would be 8-6 right now. We definitely beat the Falcons with Rush under center and I think there’s a chance we beat 49ers too. It pisses me off to be 6-8 right now. This team should still be in the hunt and that should make this fanbase sick.
Well we will see with these next 3 games I doubt he wins any of them!

This season, the Cowboys could win with any quarterback capable of leading their offense to 27 points or better.

Regardless of who the quarterback is, when the defense can hold the opponent to less than 27 points, they are 6-0.

When the opponent scores 27 or more points the Cowboys are 0-8.

You are absolutely correct; the Cowboys defense was the key this season and far too many of our best players were hurt for the biggest games.

Its pretty much any season for teams with at least an average offense. Even going back to last season the the Cowboys were 11-0 when the defense gave up 20 or fewer points. 1-6 when the Cowboys gave up 21+ points. Their are always some quirky outliers like the Thursday night game last week that was 12-6 or pretty much any game the Bengals play. Its why I'm a big fan of investing in your defense and being more open to turnover at the QB position.

This IMHo is huge. McCarthy wsa far too quick to get away from the running game early in the season. Even in the games where the defense was at least pretending to compete he never stuck with it to any degree. I suppose we have to put some of that on Dak as well because as the QB he has the ability to audible out of idiotic pass plays but when was the last time a QB audibled from called pass play to a run? But I don't think either of them gave enough deference to CeeDee missing camp and the rookies needing time to learn how to play line in the NFL, and nobody paid enough attention to just how banged up Martin was. Myself included.
