Dude is a power back . You can play him at FB and he is quick down hill runner who can pound the rock like Zeke.
He is really young and can replace Pollard if he leaves. SERMON CAN BLOCK EFFECTIVELY AND CATCH VERY WELL OUT OF THE BACKFIELD
I think we need to be in on Rico Dowdle. He can block. He can catch. He can play on the kick coverage units. He plays with a lot of energy and he can replace Pollard, if he leaves.

Rico Dowdle's best college season was 764 yards, his freshman year.

Trey Sermon rushed for 550 yards in two games - the Big Ten title game and CF playoff versus Clemson. But yeah, gotta keep Rico Dowdle. :muttley:

I remember watching those games. He was a beast.

Not sure what he has left at this point. SF cut him for a reason.
He is inconsistent at times .moody . Lost his starting position at OU , transferred to ohio state . He is talented but nothing special .

How did Cedric Benson do in college?
How did Kai-Jana Carter do in college?
How did Trent Richardson do in college?
How did Alonzo Highsmith do in college?
How did Tim Bacabutuak or what ever do in college?

So yeah keep talking to me about being good in college.

Trey Sermon rushed for 331 yards in a Big Ten title game, then followed that with 254 yards vs Clemson in a college football playoff game.

But OMG, Rico Dowdle. Tell me one thing Rico Dowdle has done. I'll wait.

I wasnt making a case to keep Rico, but just figuring out who we would actually cut lol.

AND the 9ers favor the SPARCs score freaks. Which may be why he didn't get more of an opportunity. Mostert and Mitchell both fit the profile.

Does anyone know how Sermon did in those two college football playoff games? If so, please post.

Timmy Smith once ran for 204 yards and 2 TDs in the Super Bowl. That unstoppable force had 476 yards and 3 TDs the rest of his career. Fortunately 6 of those yards came on 6 carries for Dallas so we didn't miss out on that action.

You act like we need an emmitt smith. Why does a cheap insurance plan hurt you an erod so terribly.

Man. So close on Biakabutuka ;). I can’t believe I still know how to spell that after all these years. More useless sports information stuck in my head lol

The niners look for specific traits. Just like his dad, they move on quickly and typically don't pay for running backs. Sermon had times where he was great in college. He had some injury issues though. I am a tad surprised he didn't really do much in SF.
