I think we need to talk about coaching around the league

Gambling is a thing…the nfl is pushing gambling so its possible coaches are fixing games

Mistakes happen….but some of these you just done make

Like Ryans calling timeout…..

Or Parker and the cowboys defense leaving men WIDE open….not even Jerry Rice was good enough to be open by 20 yards multiple times per game

What happened in Washington is also a sign….who does that? Situational football is a thing….
Both coaches in the Washington game not kicking when next points win is definitely a sign. In chip shot range and nobody kicks it

yeah I saw that and I thought wth are they doing??
Before that the giants at the 20, should have kicked it then, but ran a running play, ball is knocked out wash gets it!
I hate ties, now one in nfce !
How could that help gambling?
The line was wash -4 and the O/U 42 .
they were over already with 54 points and the people who bet on nyg +4 won with the tie, would have won with giants fg and win, and also with wash fg and win.

So it couldnt help sports books either way lol. So apparently just sheer stupidity on both teams part .
Harbaugh and Quinn should not screw up like that.

It's just idiotic. And the level of coaching stupidity this week as a whole is mind boggling, just from the games I saw. The Seahawks not kneeling on it cost them the game. Sirianni is a bonafide moron, and Cohen was an idiot too.

I know we like to complain about Schotty and Parker. And it is true that coaching matters.. and it's easy to have a bubble as Cowboys fans focusing only on the Cowboys..but I think we need to talk about coaching around the league. Specifically, the lack of quality.

Just today, without the Cowboys playing, the Jaguars and Eagles played a game in England where there was....a lack of intelligent coaching on both sides. Sirianni looked like a total moron as usual, such as allowing a return when JAX had no timeouts. Cohen made some braindead decisions like the wildcat on first and goal at the 1. The Seahawks just made an incredibly dumb decision to not kneel it out with 18 seconds leading into half. Meanwhile, the Commanders apparently forgot that they didn't have timeouts, while the Giants fumbled in a critical situation.

That's just some of the obvious errors today that were hilarious. The point is, our coaches are far from the only ones. It's shocking to see what seems to be across the board idiotic coaching. Our entire division has horrible HCs. Seattle's defending champion coach made a braindead decision. And this was all today.

So, I have to ask.....what happened? Is it all just the focus on analytics that people forgot about intelligent decisions? Have people forgotten how to manage the clock? It's funny how that was something that we complained so much about with Mike McCarthy when he was here, but we have seen a lot of it around the league just today without us playing. Just kind of shocking to see. Funny, but shocking.
This is you just barley scrathces the surface that's if we walk games like every game being every second realize that there's some better coaches than we have making bigger mistakes in games especially time management and analytic type of decisions,

It's been going on for a while and it appears we watch every second of every Dallas game BUT if you guys watch every second of every other games, you find out that there are misstakes being made by better coaches and teams than us, that had bigger aspirations than the Cowboys this year, that either have the same record right now or worse, could anybody have seen the Chargers being winless right now that's I gotta say harbuagh name.hmm

I'm getting a single buy all the records by all the teams and I realize we focus on our team but when you look at the league right now other than 49ers being 5-0 in the NFC, and they do not look unbeatable ay all, Did you know that you made the league at punts and three and outs Ironic huh..

I don't see another front runner in the NFC that IF the Cowboys that can get their poop together, Could have chance at the division or at least a WC..

I can't believe I am on the same page as Coogles.

Betting is hurting sports in general, but I don't want to break the rules of the forum because this could go way off the rails so I just leave it right here.
Gotcha yeah let's stay on point with the rules, and move on!

Most importantly, you've set yourself up for misery being on the same page as COOG, I would be careful around here, watch your online back!! Lol

Fish may be reading here lol. Or he had the same idea at same time. He focuses on the NFCE .
Dumb Dumber Dumberer, and Dumbest

I really really think that’s the biggest thing holding us back.

Yes Parcells never took us to a Super Bowl, but he made us competent and buttoned up. We actually over achieved in his time here based on the talent.

I know it’s gonna kill Jerry bc he never goes this route. BUT WE NEED A TRUE HEAD COACH WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD PERIOD.

Parcells took a bunch of losers and made them playoff worthy in his first year. I remember him coming down on the players during training camp stating he had never seen a group practice so poorly in his professional career

Are some of these bad coaching or bad plays by players?

A fumble when driving for a closer field goal is not bad coaching, unless the player is known to fumble a lot.
The Daniels play was bad, but mainly due to the player not only scrambling too long but then not throwing it away.

The fumble wasn't like the GT-UM game 3 years ago where the UM HC runs the ball instead of kneeling out for a win. That's on coaching
Video for reference.

I think we are seeing more of this b/c teams don't have enough practice time. CBA limits it and few teams risk starters in the preseason which is the best place to get these things worked out.

This thread topic is spot on. Theirs this love affair by coaches around the NFL,college, that solely think analytics is king. The evidence for this is on full display. Heck just look at Sundays games. Even the Raven vs ATL game was 2 coaches that appeared inept. It's a scourge around the league. Situational ball as far as coaching goes, is bye bye. The league has lost its mind.

I don’t disagree. Coaching gets judged based on whether it works out though. Shotty made sure what happened to Washington didn’t happen to us by telling Dak to throw it away if it isn’t wide open, but because we left 7 seconds on the clock and we lost he is still called stupid.

Belacheat was the master in going over these details with players. I think most coaches forget to go over these little things and then they become big issues.

Blame Vegas!!
Seriously, blame the over reliance on analytics and the extreme "noise" by media & fans whenever a decision doesn't work out. I think coaches have seriously gotten scared to go with their gut. Worried about what they can defend the best in a press conference.

It's true but at least those teams resemble a football team. I think coaches today just try to outsmart each other. Take the points, pay attention and hold onto the ball. Football fundamentals.
Coaches like to be buddies with the players. Quinn is a perfect example. It doesn't work.
