Not that it means a whole lot but FWIW, Chad is doing a chat over on ESPN.com and someone asked him if he has talked to Dallas at all and he said that he has not.

A few mention that chad has jumped up rounds? due to his super combine effort. Can't the same be said for Lawson and many other prospects? Who had Lawson as a 1st rounder before the combine?CJ produced when called upon.

Lawson is a bigger ? than Jackson at 18 easily. He's more of an athlete than football player, undersized and would be asked to learn a whole new position in the NFL. If he didn't run a 4.4 40 and ran more like a 4.7 people would not be talking about him at #18 to be our new SOLB.

Jackson goes before Lawson by at least 5 picks.

Moot point ( Jackson to Boys ) though, he will be gone to either the Eagles at 14 or Broncos at 15 you can be sure about that.

Pat Kirwan says that scouts have told him that if you watch film on Jackson, he never gets separation.

FWIW, I'm with you, ABQ. I thought Jackson looked far and away like the best WR prospect at the combine. Not just his 40, but his quickness, the way he made his cuts, everything.

That said, I sure hope we don't take a WR in the first round, and I don't think there's any way we will. This might be Parcells' last year, and Jackson would contribute almost nothing to the team this year. First-year WRs almost never do.

Lawson moved up following the combine, but not as much as Jackson. Lawson was considered a top of the 2nd round pick before putting up freakish combine numbers.

Personally, I don't want either one of them.

Basically, if a guy played at a big school that you know was scouted a lot during the year, I don't like moving a player up draft boards because of how he plays in shorts. Now a guy from a small school that does amazingly well at the combine can force scouts and coaches to go to tape to see how he does on the field and then make their decisions based on that.

Basically, in my view, the combine should help break ties, clarify the size of a player to see if he fits, etc.

I'm not in favor of drafting Lawson either really. If it happens, I can live with it, I just don't think he's a good fit for us.

Is it just me???? I think Jackson is a tad overrated. Fast yes but can he catch a ball in traffic? I doubt it he's too soft. What kind of ability does he have in running good routes?? My guess not very good.

The problem with Jackson is that he's not considered a speedster. If we take a WR in the 1st it better be somebody who stretches the field and runs a sub 4.4, 40. An impact player is what we need. Jackson's measurables remind me of Travis Taylor

You are aware that Jackson ran a 4.3 something at the combine--right? However, I still want us to take a LB.

He is not soft and his route running has been described as very good and crisp.

It appears a few here are responding in regards to a player they know nothing about and/or probably have not seen play.

To the posters that stated they don't think he has down field ability, know this, in his junior year he set the all time Florida record for average yards per catch!

This year he adapted to a new system that didn't utilize those skills and was very productive, so now everyone questions his downfield ability, Rediculous! if anything he proved his versatility.

The fact that he blistered two 40 yard dash times under 4.4 at the combine with his physique is phenominal, and I saw them both. Any one who watched the skills competition that he was in will confirm his hands and athletiscm were jaw dropping.

To those who feel he just came out of nowhere, know this, he came to Florida as a highschool recruit with Super Star expectations. And remember DeMarcus Ware was a second/third round pick in some mock drafts even three weeks before the draft, sometimes you just have to take a closer look.

There may not be a Roy Williams in this draft, but if Troy Williamson or Roddy White are first round picks then C.J. and Santonio Holmes are without a doubt first round talents! Top 10, no, but first round, absolutely.

I would be happy with the best talent at 18 wether it is Jackson, Holmes, Carpenter, Lawson, Cromartie, Justice or Jimmy Williams for that matter, I will leave that up to our front office and support their decision.

Our offense would be pretty scary if we added one of these WR's, thats for sure. Kevin Burnett could very well be every bit as productive as the draft options, who knows.

If so our problems could be solved something like this:
D1- Chad Jackson/Santonio Holmes
D2- E.Winston/M. Mcniel/C. Spencer/J. Scott/D. Colledge
D3- P. Watkins/D. Bullocks/ C. Griffith

Roddy White and Williamson weren't first round caliber WRs either. I stated that last year.

As for guys climbing draft boards. I don't mind them climbing if they are from schools that simply aren't seen much (like Troy), but when they come from a big school (like Florida), running a 40 in shorts shouldn't move a player up 60 spots.

He's more than just speed and that is not the only reason he has moved up.

I doubt he was ranked at the 80th best player or so and jumped 60 spots to around the top 20 with a few 40 times. He has all the tools you look for and had he played in a Pro Style Offense we probably wouldn't be talking about whether or not he worth a top 20 pick.

People on the board are really wanting a big SOLB that can cover. Burnett is almost 6-3 and around 240-245 lbs. He is a converted FS. You want a leader? Try being the only play in Vols HISTORY to be named a two time captain of the team. Not even Peyton did that.

Agility?

4.63 in the 40-yard dash … 440-pound bench press … 500-pound squat … 300-pound power clean … 33-inch vertical jump … 32 5/8-inch arm length … 9½-inch hands.

That is just as good as Wimbley, Lawson and Carpenter or at least close.

Don't understand why everyone is ready to give up on this guy after an ACL tear? He was coming on at the end of the year. LT and WR are bigger needs in case a player goes down at those positions.

as a wr3 on 30 catches. whoop dee doo.

everyone is raving about his combine performances because his accomplishments on the field are meager.

Like someone else noted, Brandon Marshall is someone just as intriguing and a lot cheaper to get.

Brandon Marshall is Mike Williams at a small school with less talent. Eventually he will be moved to TE. He is already 230 lbs and runs a 4.6. He will get slower and heavier as time marches on.
