Let's not go overboard with the Jerry love just because the team performed above everybody's, inlcuding his, expectations. And he was named Poobah of the year. It was a joint effort by the front office from him down to the scouting department and everyone in between. Jerry even went against his own natural instincts and struck gold.-----That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when George decides to do everything opposite of what he normally woiuld do----and it worked.

So there you have it, Jerry is George Costanza. Grand Poobah, hope he continues working with his staff and agreeing to those decisions.

That episode was hilarious. Maybe you are on to something here.

This morning I realized just how great his decisions have been since 2010ish as a GM. Really, he has made very few mistakes relative to the AVG GM. On draft day we have been a top 3 team in the league.

In Jerry we trust.

I trust Jerry more than in the past, but not completely, LOL

I think we'd be better off trusting in other authority figures to somewhat limit the decisions Jerry makes.

His lack of umbrage about getting absolutely violated by the league renders him a fraud. He has all the evidence on his side about a thrown game (way before Dez's catch) yet does nothing. That tells you everything, his independent Pepsi deal means more than any future Super Bowl victory.

The best decision JJ has ever made was personal. To finally listen to his coaches, rant all he wants, think about it, and then agree with the decisions of his coaches and scouting personnel.

OMG ... did we win the Super Bowl or something? We came off a nice 12-4 season and a single playoff win. That doesn't make up for 18 years of futility.

Jerry Jones is not suddenly the second coming of Jimmy Johnson.

I stand by my statements that Austin could have been a special player in the league if he was able to get over his injuries.. He played the game very intelligently, he made small adjustments and tweaks to routes that only the all-time greats did. He had perhaps some of the best raw receiver instincts I have ever witnessed...... Unfortunately, he couldn't pull it all together.

Whenever anyone cites Austin I point back to the time when Nnamdi Asomugha allowed 1 td and 250 yards in a season, with ~150 of those yards and the touchdown coming from Miles Austin... When he was healthy, he was performing like a top 5 WR in the league.

IF you aunt had zzz , she'd be your uncle..if, if, if

I dont trust him and will never do. He is a gambler and has no clue.

But right now he has the right people around him who are able to make good decissions and he lets them do.

I trust those people.

Who makes the final decision? Answer Jerry.

Who did they draft Manziel or Martin? Answer Martin.

It's well documented Jerry was talked out of drafting Manziel.

That being said, I trust the entity that is Cowboys front office for the offseason.

I thought they need to focus more on the D last year, I was wrong. This year, I'm pretty certain there will be a defensive focus.

Yes.

He had his opinion. Then listened to his team.

Sounds like what.... A.... Leader.... Would do.

Yeah, but were trying to diminish New England this offseason.

I'm not sure I trust your judgement.

When I hear of him wanting to draft Johnny Football makes me wonder.

Really regretting the decision not to well into the regular season make me question his thinking process.

I will say I trust the entire brain trust far more than JJ individually. "We" seem to be making better decisions lately.

Brian, I am offering this bit of advice as someone who has a lot more experience in the world around us than you do. Please take it as nothing more than that, advice.

Your penchant for making rash statements comes across just like reporters who get an idea, post a tweet or article hoping to be hailed as right, and then defend it despite backlash only to abandon the subject when proven wrong.

This is what you have done in the past with regards to Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, professional wrestling, and I am sure I am forgetting some things. Yes, I do still know that you think Miles Austin could have been great. It was the amount of greatness you heaped upon him that made you wrong in the first place.

This proclamation by you really isn't much different. You're going to get battered for it. You're likely to stand your ground stubbornly because of that. You'll hope to be proven right, and if proven wrong, you'll handily forget this. Just like you have previous topics mentioned.

You don't have the experience necessary to defend rash statements. Because of that, you lose a lot of respect that might be given to you based on your passion and youth. Thus you lose twice as much as you should.

We all make rash statements from time to time. I'm not putting you on an island by yourself. The difference is you've already created a persona that is hard to overcome without more life experience than you have.
