Your unwillingness to acknowledge those who openly hate Zeke and can't wait to run him out of town is not my problem. You don't see it then it must be because you don't want to. C'est le vive.

No, your exaggeration of how many “hate” Zeke is the problem.

The vast majority of fans that criticize Zeke do so in the context of his production relative to his contract.

Again, I bet there would be significant less criticism of Zeke if his cap hit this year and next year were only around $4 million.

But Pollard is the top scorer on the team.

And as I just explained in most situations the offense has put Zeke in the position to punch in all those short TD runs

Yall acting like Zeke is creating all of those td run opportunities by getting us close and then scoring but that's faaaaaarrr from the truth.

I've seen them substitute Zeke down by the goal line at least 5-6 times this year

Not just on the first scoring drive of the Philly game

How many goal line opportunities is Pollard getting??? Hmmm

I guarantee ya Pollard has 3-5xs more yards on scoring plays than Zeke lmao

If POLLARD wasnt out there our offense would be TRASH 7-10 record max

Not arguing that Pollard is a stand alone back He's a committee back in a 17 game season. Lol

But he's a better stand alone back than Zeke by a large margin

Both are committee backs Dash and Hope.

We don't even get to see what Davis can do urgh

We can't go by what-if scenario's only what has been put on paper. I broke all of the stats down for you.

If we did that I could argue that pollard's two best games came when Zeke was out. But I won't go there. I am basing on the actual production of the players. Like it or not Zeke is 4th in Rushing TD's and would be higher on yards and TD's if they didn't sit him two games. You act like Pollard is the only reason we have an offense. I hate to break it to you, but he's not. Fact remain's there are only 3 backs in the NFL that are ahead of zeke in Rushing TD's even after missing 2 games. There are no backs outside of the 1st and 2nd round in the top 7 in yards. If you want to be a rushing team you need a back in the 1st or 2nd round.

I thought we should have taken Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker jr in the first round so I can't disagree with you

I've been done w Zeke for 2+ years. And a huge supporter of Pollard and fresh legs for that long also.

Pollard has 12 overall tds which is more than Zeke btw

It goes back to situational football. Ya give Pollard all of those goal line opportunities Zeke gets and he's the Overall TD leader playing part-time by a LONG SHOT. Overall Tds are more important than stand alone rushing only tds imo

Wouldn't ya agree

You know why they do this? TP averages 1.9 yards per carry in goal to go situations and has 3 TDs and 4 first downs on 12 carries. Meanwhile the guy YOU keep claiming he would be better than "if only he got more opportunities" has 10 TDs and 11 first downs on 23 carries.

The Cowboys offensive coaches appear to have learned their lesson after watching Pollard get stuffed on several goal line carries earlier this season.

So with Pollard averaging a big fat 2 yards per carry on Saturday, who would have provided the running threat to keep the Eagles defense honest? What about his .75 ypc against Washington? I repeat.. Pollard is great when there's great blocking.. When there isn't he gets a lot of 0 and negative yard runs. That sort of thing kills an offense. Fortunately Kellen Moore figured out that the best use for him in that game was to throw it to him. Very good move.. but if not for Zeke's 3 and 4 yards plunges into the teeth of that defense they're teeing off on Dak and things get ugly really fast!

Zeke has 11, its a push in overall TD's. The same could be said for Zeke, he would have more TD's and Yards if Pollard wasn't there. That's why I say you have to go by actual production. I like Pollard. He has a role and needs to be on the field. I think they found the perfect use for both players. But when the chips are down, Zeke is the one in the game.

Alot of those negative plays comes from bad play designs by this jr O/C

Sure Zeke is the better N and S runner in short yardage but his longest play from scrimmage this year is a whopping 27 yards ha ha ha That's trash for a rb bruh

Because he's still running in quick sand and wouldn't have 5 tds all year if the offense couldn't move the ball down the field for him.

And the best player on this offense is still Pollard so give his game some respect

I know everyone is always trying to get rid of him but he has done his job and has done it well!

I love 21 and I hope he comes back next year

He has to restructure and take a pay cut. Splitting carries with Pollard means he's not the bell-cow back that Dallas was paying him to be. There's nothing wrong with that. The reality is that we're better off with the 1-2 punch that Elliott and Pollard can provide. Restructuring Elliott has to be done with keeping Pollard in mind.

We are in agreement.. but we all know that the business side of the NFL always wins.. so it could very well be that in the end money sends one or both of them to other teams. If another team offers Pollard big money he should take it. If another team offers Zeke money even close to what he is making he should also take it so long as he's not jumping into a losing situation. No amount of money can compensate for being on a horrible team. They both will have to weigh that aspect of it in their respective decisions. This is a good team they are on and they are a great tandem together. If I'm either of them I'm not going some booty juice team just for a few more dollars, knowing how many millions more I can make as a former Cowboy.

Davis is 10 pounds lighter than Pollard and 20 pounds lighter than Zeke.. He aint nobody's short yardage back. Keep trying..

Here are the RB's ahead of Zeke and their draft position:

Najee Harrist 1st
Jamaal Williams 4th
Jonathan Taylor 2nd
Damien Pierce 4th
Rhamondree Stevenson 4th
Aaron Jones 5th
Christian Mcaffery 1st
Tony Pollard 4th
Travis Etienne 1st
Dalvin Cook 2nd
Miles Sanders 2nd
Sequan Barkely 1st
Nick Chubb 2nd
Derick Henry 2nd
Josh Jacobs 1st

Here is the breakdown of the players by draft position
Yards
1st - 5
2nd - 5
3rd - 0
4th - 4
5th - 1

One fifth Rounder, Aaron Jones. That's it. Obvious the most productive backs are in the 1st and 2nd rounds. But keep cooking with your late round back myth.

giphy.gif

Here are the backs with more TD's than Zeke, the last two are tied with Zeke:

TD's
Jamaal Williams 4th
Derick Henry 2nd
Nick Chubb 2nd
Ezekiel Elliott 1st
Josh Jacobs 1st *
Miles Sanders 2nd *

As we can tell 3RB's have more TD's than Zeke:

1st - 2
2nd - 1
4th - 1

So please explain where all these 5th round RB's that are a dime a dozen that can replace Zeke.

giphy.gif

Please don't start with the argument that Zeke is taking Pollards TD's. Pollard is taking Zeke's carries so it even's out. If Zeke had his normal load he would be over 1k easy and most likely haveing his 2nd best year overall maybe even pushing for his best year.

Remember Zeke had to bulk up for the pounding that he was taking not just from all the rushes but blocking as well. What do you think is going to happen to Pollard once he gets the full time Job? He's already missed games due to injury with only a light load. he is going to have to bulk up. He is a dynamic back, he is someone you want to get in space. But you need a complementary back like Zeke with him. They are both in a great situation. I hope they both see it and decide to keep it together. So please stop with the lazy arguement that you can get a back in the late round to replace Zeke. Its just not true. Please stop using outliers to justify your arguement.

giphy.gif
great. work. thanks for the research.

so it seems like 2nd to 4th round is the sweet spot. no more top 15 pick for a RB. I would focus on CB, RB, DT in the first three rounds. one of the RBs is bound to drop into second or late first. if I take a late first RB, they better be dang good and probably ranked a top 15 just dropping.....

with that said, I still think its a mistake to pay a RB big second contract. I rather draft. I think you can draft, get value for 4,5 years. instead of handing 15M /year to a RB that as you said isn't close to any top RB in the league.

and don't get me wrong, I like Zeke, but I just don't like the money paid to a RB.

I would like both Zeke and Pollard back next year and continue using both, but with the size of Zeke's contract and the fact Pollard will need a new contract, I can't see them keeping both.

No matter how many times you type the same tripe over and over won't make it true.

Paragraph 1: If you watch the plays Pollard gets stuffed on goaline, Zeke wouldn't have scored either. I can only think of one time Pollard picked the wrong hole. There's stats, then there's what you see.

Paragraph 2: Again, you even said there weren't many holes for Pollard. He also had a 4 yard loss, not his fault. Zeke saw better holes imo, but overall I don't see how you can knock TP. Especially when he can just give you 10 yards a catch in the passing game if teams are stopping the run. No RB is good without blocking this isn't exclusive to TP. The notion that Pollard is a weak RB his false.

Stats amongst RBs:
*Pollard is 2nd in the NFL in average yards per carry. (Zeke 31st)
*Pollard 2nd in the NFL in yards after contact.
*Pollard 3rd in the NFL in Big runs (Zeke 17).
* Pollard 3rd in the NFL in yards per catch.

Paragraph 3: What's not true? Are you Zeke is better than Pollard in 2022?

I am interested to know why it has to be "knocking Pollard" to say that there are things that he does not do as well as Zeke? He is not as good as Zeke in short yardage and goal line but is much better in space. Why is it a problem to say that? What am I missing? At no time have I said he is "weak." But there is absolutely no argument to be made that he is as strong as Zeke. As for the notion that "Zeke would been stuffed too" on the plays where Pollard was stuffed. I will simply have to respectfully disagree. Zeke is a stronger player with more power, thicker build and more of a behind his pads running style. There have been dozens of plays this year and in the past where he has been met in the hole by a defender and he just trucks him or simply moves him backwards. TP doesn't do that as well as Zeke plain and simple. Not that he doesn't do it at all.. but again.. the other guy is better. That's not an insult.. Zeke is IMHO the best short yardage back in the game. Pollard is maybe the best in space back in the game. He's certainly in the conversation. I'm glad we have both of them.

It was wonderful to see Moore figure out that Pollard was getting nothing done running the ball and shift to using him in the passing game. I'm not sure we see that sort of adjustment in years past. As for your last question.. Look at their numbers over the last 5 games and you tell ME who is playing better right this moment.. Pollard has certainly had the better season.. but in the last 5 weeks he has not been the better back. Don't take my word for it.. Look it up.. then let's talk.

It's not even a question who's the better RB, and you're trying to act like it's a discussion, it's not. Zeke is not better than Pollard, at all. Imo Zeke isn't doing anything special, he's an average RB now; meanwhile, Pollard is Top 5.

The knock is you're trying act like their on the same level. Football is a meritocracy, and Zeke is a glorified short yardage RB with flashes of what he used to be, now.

I already looked it up, it's those stats in my last post where TP is ranked Top 3 in the league. I've been a Zeke fan since the College Football Playoffs years ago when he went off, but Zeke is not him anymore.

I still root for Zeke as always, but it's a fantasy to act like he's the Playmaker TP is.

Interesting that you leave of the two most important stats for RBs. Rushing TDs and rushing yards. Pollard is not top 5 in either category. He's a very good back with a specific role.
