Isn't this Hurt's 2nd season? I don't judge QBs to harshly until their 2nd or 3rd season. After that, it's what have they won?
What has Dak won? I'm a Cowboy and Bills fan. Josh Allen's first 2 seasons he had the lowest completion percentages in the league. Today I would take him over Dak in a heartbeat.

Sadly gone are the days when you when the NFC East you were going to win the Super Bowl like in the late 80s and early 90s. The Cowboys, Washington and Giants had some of the greatest offensive lines the history of the NFL. The Giants and Eagles had the best defenses. Joe Gibbs, Bill Parcells Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson as head coaches. Bill Belichick and Norv Turner as assistants. Lawrence Taylor, Emmitt Smith, Reggie White and Daryl Green as players. Wow!!!!!:omg: I miss those days.:oldcouple:
I miss those days too. We’ll be back!

So, I was invited to see camp by a friend who works for the Eagles. I used to go a few times back in the day when Juan Castillo was my neighbor and I was friendly with Jon Runyan. Here is what I saw.

We have, by far, the best QB in the division. Jalen Hurts still has no consistent timing with his receivers, nor does he have particularly good downfield vision. Being an Eagles fan must be frustrating, since watching AJ Brown and Davonte Smith, they clearly have real talent and speed at the WR position. Toss in Chez Watkins, and they would be very dangerous if they had a real QB.

To add to this, their offensive line is no joke. Hurts has plenty of time to make those throws, but just can't do it with any consistency. Twice he had 4+ seconds in the pocket and missed receivers who had their man beat. He did keep a few plays alive with his legs, but with that line, just throw the damn ball.

Mishnew is what he is, a capable backup.

Carson Strong threw two balls that went 65+ yards in the air, and it didn't look like he was even trying. He has the arm strength of Hercules. Too bad he has the mobility of a pregnant cow. In the right system he could be a real player. I know they want to work with him and hopes he can become the #2.

I am 6'4", 275. Jordan Mailata walked past me. I felt small.

Miles Sanders could be a #1 back, but he just gets hurt too often, and does have a bit of the fumbles. He does have the talent.

On one play, Jordan Davis destroyed a blocker, shed another, and ran one of their scat backs down from behind.

The Eagles with a real QB would have a chance to go deep in the playoffs. Right now, they will finish second in the division and go out in the first round.

Just my humble opinion based on a limited look.

Minshew could do some damage if given the chance. If what you say about Hurts is accurate he will be breathing down his neck soon.

The Eagles remind me of our team in 2016 with their Achilles heel being the QB.
If they don't do a Jerry(sign Hurts to a cap-killing contract)and draft themselves a top prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft they might be the new team to beat in the NFC.
Hurry, Pappy, go get on their bandwagon and cheer for them. I can sense the excitement in your words.

I'm not really a fan, but I've admired the Bills team and fans from afar. They have a really passionate fanbase, and usually have an interesting team at the very least.
My son-in-law is who got me watching the Bills. Talk about a team always being the bridesmaid and never the bride. The Bills remind me of Dallas in many ways.

I wasn't there, but that analysis sounds 100% accurate. Iggles have everything except a real NFL QB. Hurts is and always will be a 1 read QB...meaning if it aint there, he gets bumfuzzled, jittery and either runs or throws an awful pass. Something he will find out early. The League has NFL tape on him now. Element of surprise is gone. They WILL adjust. What may have worked for him down the stretch 2 sneak in the playoff's last year may not this time. Nick Saban knew he was limited. His best trait is throwing the deep ball and running. Everything else is a crapshoot.

@JoeKing looks to me like he's saying Dak is better.

You need to learn how to read, my fellow fan. I clearly say Dak is by far the best QB in the division.

99.9% of the Zone fans knew what you were saying. But JoeKing lives on another planet from the rest of us apparently.

And by the way you are right, much of the Eagles season hinges on Hurts. Frankly, I think they have a more complete roster than we do (at least until we see how the rookies perform - specifically Smith and Williams), with the one clear advantage we have is at QB (presently).

The Eagles beat writer Eliot Shorr Parks has been brutal on Hurts all camp.
He basically says he is a JV QB.
Benefit of no spend at QB though is a deeper roster everywhere else.
