I was wrong about Cooper Rush

What? We were getting our butts kicked all over the place. Doing things when it no longer mattered maybe....did hide some warts...if yer blind.
Yes the TEAM was getting its butts kicked. But at no time did they enter the 4th quarter with < 40 yards passing. At least none that I can recall. We also managed to win 3 games along the way. One against a division leader in Pittsburgh. As for "no longer mattered." I have always maintained that there is no such thing. As long as there are enough possessions remaining in a game that you could pull off the comeback, everything you do matters. If Turpin catches that deep ball that hit him in the helmet against the 49ers and the Cowboys had been able to keep moving it and win that game would the Cowboys' efforts not have mattered because they had been down 3 scores at one point? Every snap matters until you are behind (or ahead) more scores than possible possessions. That's the way I see it and the only way I will ever see it.

I'm still waiting on the massive titan of a back Zeke to punish defenses as you stated. Any thoughts? Lmao.
I'm still waiting for him to get more than a couple of carries here and there. Well let me take that back. I have seen that the Cowboys have no interest in playing that style of football so I stopped waiting for Zeke to get anything but spot duty. And he has clearly demonstrated that he cannot function in that role. It is what it is.

I don't think he gets much if he retires, but if he retires due to an injury and gets a settlement. I think that's a different story.
I'm sure somebody in here will straighten me right out LOL.
I think we save a ton on the cap hit. Jerry should build him a house on the side lol

I'm sorry, but exactly what did he accomplish?
Winning seasons competitive every season. And that’s what Jerry wanted, stay average stay competitive that’s what he accomplished. I didn’t say it was much but it’s better than what we saw yesterday.

It is absolutely stunning that people convinced themselves Cooper Rush was a good QB who if given the opportunity, would show he's as good as Dak.

This is when Dak hatred goes too far, LOL. It makes you say/think silly things.
You completely miss the point.

The fact that a trash, scrub practice squad QB went 4-1 with a Cowboys roster clearly shows that the team was absolutely loaded in 2022.

Unfortunately, Dak and the offense were unable to put up 20 points against a Brock Purdy led 49ers in the play offs dispute being given numerous drives to do so.

That is why so many Cowboy fans don't want to hear about your love for Dak Prescott. Throw in the 2016 and 2021 teams as well. Wasted rosters on a quarterback who didn't deserve such strong teams as he butchered the chances of Superbowl glory.

It's shameful the team was unable to reach the Superbowl in any of those years - even more embarrassing that they couldn't even reach the NFC championship game.

Cooper Rush average 17 points a game. And then the Eagles destroyed him that season whatever Prescott did was over the top. Because he had nothing to work with either. Credit to him for keeping us in football games because the team sucked on defense.

I hope you're only stating this as pertains to Rush because when evaluating an actual NFL QB a lot of other things matter. There is however precious little that can be done to overcome the lack of at least a serviceable NFL arm. QBs with higher football IQ and acumen than Cooper Rush have flamed out or never even gotten out of the starting blocks because of it. Remember Peyton Manning in Denver though? His arm might not have even been as strong as what Rush is working with and he still managed the steer the team to a title. Largely on the strength of that hellacious defense but still. He got it done. Same with late career Drew Brews and Boomer Esiason before him. There were all QB's whose arms fell off for one reason or another (usually shoulder or elbow surgery) but they still had enough to win a few games.
That is 100% what I'm saying. A certain amount of arm strength absolutely must be present. Cooper does not meet the minimum.

Colt McCoy has a stronger arm than Rush, and his career as a starter has been derailed due to lack of arm strength.

Rush is a backup for a reason. If anything I thought they would slow the game down some for him. But after the mistakes, the game was a wrap in the third quarter.

I just think it funny that it took 5 years of watching Rush to figure out his noodle arm is a huge limitation.

They then insist on another QB evaluation.
Yeah, how did anyone not know this? Seriously, his arm is just too weak. Too bad, too, because he has a Tom Brady head.

This doesn’t mean I think Dak is a good quarterback because I don’t think he is!! However as a man I can admit when I was wrong and I’ll happily eat my crow. I think I desperately wanted a savior so I latched to whoever was next on the depth chart, so I was hoping for a miracle with Cooper Rush.

This just means one thing. Our QB1 and QB2 both stink and our team is running out of answers. Starting Trey Lance might be our only option left and even he probably sucks too!
It's ok.....but our QB1 doesn't think as bad as your thoughts may lead. We simply need to get a team formulated to play complimentary football. One group or player failing, others banding together to overcome/
Example; Goff threw 5 interceptions last night, if Dak tosses one, we're immediately in trouble and the board goes crazy. We've had Tony Romo sling 5 interceptions and win the game. It's not often, but it happens sometimes.

Yeah ok, I guess every single nfl executive is wrong about Dak and how he's been rated his entire career. There may be one or two qbs in the league who could ink out wins with this garbage roster construct. You're the same type that will say Jerry sucks, Dak sucks and the coaches suck, but then have zero explanation for how they won 36 games the last 3 years and had a top ranked offense. It's so stupid.

There's a difference between being good and great. Players aren't evaluated on a scale of suck or awesome. Yall don't always have to speak in hyperbole.
Do you even pay attention to who you’re arguing with??? I’ve been a Dak and Jerry supporter in this board longer than you’ve probably been here. “Yallll” won’t work with me dude!!!

"possible possessions"? Vague.

Here's the way I see it: You come out the gate and be effective. You come out flat, get so far behind the defense changes (prevent, for example), then it's likely too late. You've doubled your (poor, so far) stats, but it's effectively meaningless.

Me personally? Never over till it's over...on the basketball court I'm going down fightin!:)

I don't trust ANYONE who takes the time to intentionally use "ya'll" on an internet message board.

Rush is a decent backup. When we had a better team he won games. I think fans are overlooking the real issues. Martin is not the same Martin, Steele isnt playing well, we have a rookie center who never played center and a rookie LT who’s never played LT. We have one WR who can get open and we keep sticking Zeke out there for some reason. Rowdy could out play Zeke right now. Unless PM was in the backfield I don’t see many QB’s winning with what we have and the plays we call

Cooper isn't as bad as he played.

Neither is Dak.

This team sucks. Thats what many of us have been trying to say ALL SEASON.
Not what I saw. I saw Cooper not finding a runner open in the flat in 1st down territory.
Instead, the bum throws to a guy behind the line of scrimmage who is immediately tackled there.

That tells me all I need to know about the false Gold Rush.

Rush may not be the answer but he is not as bad as someone made him look yesterday.
And even at that he threw a td pass that CEEDEE lost in the sun.
Rush is better than he looked yesterday. He may not be the answer, but neither is Dak.
Lamb didn't lose it. He never saw it because Jerry Jones thinks it looks cool and thinks it's an advantage for our players to not be able to see.

It's like all of the problems we noticed the last 3 years weren't addressed

They were not addressed, you can’t put a band aid on gang green and think that is it. Example DT, the Clampetts brings in old DT well past their expiration dates and think that is it, see RB with Zeke also.
