What doesn't make sense?

When Parcells and Ireland were here, they made comments about avoiding schools with a country club atmosphere. They didn't think players that played at those types of schools transitioned to the NFL well.

They never drafted a player from Texas in their time here and haven't drafted one in Miami either.
it doesnt make sense cause it doesnt have a country club atmosphere

Sure, but there have also been an alarming number of high picks that have been busts or failed to live up to their potential/draft position (Mike Williams, Roy Williams, Sweed, Vince Young, Jammer, etc).

And many of the ones that finally did turn their career around took awhile to do it (Benson, Davis, Rogers) or have had issues and have bounced around the league in spite of their talent (Benson, Rogers)

One of the things that is frequently mentioned is that the players at Texas are pampered. Might explain why they bust or why it takes them awhile for the light to turn on once they have to deal with the realities of the NFL.

Like I said above, the perception is that Texas players are pampered.

Combine that with the performance of many of their players in the NFL, the comments made by Parcells, the team's avoidance of Texas players (even though the team is in their backyard) and it has to give you pause when you consider drafting Texas players.

did you really list sweed? young was rookie of the year and almost lead his team to a playoff birth last year. jammer would be awesome if he played in the 90s he was made for bump and run coverage not this you cant touch the WR league of today.

I think that perception has gone away for the most part.
The whole premis that the Cowboys avoid Texas players because they are somehow soft is preposterous.

The irony of what you are saying is hilarious....I think the Cowboys have more UT guys starting for them than any other school except LSU--who has the same number.

Good grief.

I want nothing to do with any receivers from LSU.
