I Won't Lie. I'm Still Mostly Checked Out Because of Last Year

Unlike Dallas, both of them have been to championship games in the past 30 years. The Ravens have even been to 2 super bowls since 2001. Neither of them have won the big prize, but both have been much closer than Dallas has.

But you go ahead and keep beating that drum. Maybe one of these years Dallas will pull their head out of the butts.
Ravens won it in 2013

Actually, the Ravens have won the big prize. The goal posts are always moving. The bills haven't won squat. Allen hasn't been in a superbowl. Lamar hasn't sniffed one. I don't want to hear about appearances. Who lost the sb 10 years ago? I don't know and I don't care. Bills fans should tune out, until their team actually does something. Browns fans should rewrite until their team ... forget it, their fans should never watch another game.

There's no reason for anyone to be confident or TRUST this franchise come playoff time, IF they make the playoffs.

The QB has stripes and we know what they are. It's a big problem.

With that said, I think the offseason moves on Defense will help but I am not sure that is saying much considering they were at absolute rock-bottom last year. They wouldn't have to do much to be better on that side of the ball.

Like you said, we can enjoy the ride but anyone expecting a drastically different outcome as far as playoff success or something goes...well I have a bridge in China for sale.
The bucs won a sb only a few short years ago. Should their fans be super confident about this upcoming season? I mean, they just recently won the SB?

Typo on my part..... time expired before I could correct my error.

Like about 28 other teams. Should I be the same if I'm a bills fan? Ravens fan? They ain't done **** in a very long time.
Do it how you want.

Like I told ya....thread title says "mostly " . You say fully. But that isn't what he said
.

Don't know what else to tell ya.
Fan judging is both stupid and unbecoming.

The title says it all. In all my years as a fan, I've never seen a hire as bad as Eberflus. And everything that happened because they refused to fire him until it was too late just kinda made me lost interest. I didn't choose to be unenthused; the vibe from last year just makes me very skeptical about this year even tho BeeberFluff is no longer in Dallas.

Something about last season still has me mostly checked out as a fan.

Anyone else feel similarly?
Every year’s a new team is the way I look at it. The best team doesn’t always win the Super Bowl. Teams can catch lightening in a bottle and go all the way.

Being skeptical is not synonymous with not being a fan anymore. Am I checked out? No. Do I think we'll ever win a SB again under Daddy and Cap Boy? No.

I checked back in after they got rid of Eberflus. I know no matter how bad the defense will be it won’t be that bad.

I respect any fan’s feelings either way.

But just so I understand…So the previous 29 years were not as big a let down as the hiring of Matt Eberflus?

Different franchise, different legacy, different ownership, different expectations from the fanbase. At least they've won Two (2) SB's in the last 30 years...They are allowed to be more confident at this point, IMO.

Campo as HC and pushing Tuna out for Wade were far worse. At least the front office had the sense to cut ties after the abomination we saw on the field last year.

Tbh, I haven't had much faith in this team in several years. They pull me back in every now and then, but the complete void of playoff success, much less championship trophies has made me apathetic. Probably won't be fully on board again until the win a championship. Maybe that's this year, but I refuse to get my hopes up.

That is called aging. At some point you just realize, through the course of life, there are real things that matter. The entire NFL is pure entertainment, like a movie. You going to go home moping because they killed Joe Pesci in Casino? 3 days later you still upset about seeing him in that grave in the middle of the desert? Have a kid die (I havent) get a divorce(I havent)... but have real stuff happen to you over time, and the Cowboys quickly take their place in importance.

I remember my girls being upset about losing the championship game of a tournament. It was around the time we started dropping bombs after 9/11. I made my personal rule on that day. I said they had 1 hour to be upset, but then we move on. I was telling them there could be people dying in the middle east right now, and we are going to cry about losing this amazing game? Nah, cmon ladies, lets have some perspective.

I didnt always follow my own rules, but I got better over time. Same with the Cowboys.
I’ve actually had both those things happen,

Sports, like a movie, you have already said its entertainment,
I get involved, I get emotional, I get upset,
Your adrenaline flows, fourth-quarter, everything’s on the line
We lose, or we win
And then it’s over, you vent you forget about it you move on
Life is so much more involved, important, you don’t ever move on from certain things.
PS, I could care less about the JONES family, I don’t let them bother me at all, I never seen such carry on despise, of them,
Great post

I would say at least a third of the fanbase feels the same way. Nostalgia brings us back. Hope brings us back but that is fading. The Jones family is a cancer and it is hard to get too pumped with them involved.
This is the biggest issue. They just went with him because firing him would have made them look stupid.

The thread title says "mostly".

So he's pulled back on things. Reserved. Not completely disengaged but cautiously hopeful.

Seems many others feel the same way. Nobody's walking....just want to see what this team will do instead of imagining success.
I mean, I do check in occasionally. But for me it used to be daily.

Idk. I usually don't harp on past seasons. This'll be my last time. It may have something to do with me moving from Texas to Missouri.

The more you reflect on him, the more he'll never leave you!!! He's gone for good, time to put our trust in Parker, well he has to earn it!!

Bob come on. Eberflus is a good coach. That defensive roster was absolutely garbage. He got scarfed up by SF. He is a respected guy. He got the same treatment as Zimmer. Zero talent to work with. Zero culture. No tools but go build a house. Last year was 100 pct on the front office.
