I Won't Lie. I'm Still Mostly Checked Out Because of Last Year

The title says it all. In all my years as a fan, I've never seen a hire as bad as Eberflus. And everything that happened because they refused to fire him until it was too late just kinda made me lost interest. I didn't choose to be unenthused; the vibe from last year just makes me very skeptical about this year even tho BeeberFluff is no longer in Dallas.

Something about last season still has me mostly checked out as a fan.

Anyone else feel similarly?

No, you're either a cowboy's fan or your fair-weather Freddie! Every year is different sometimes it's worse sometimes its better sometimes its even eehh! but if someone would have told me New England had a super bowl team last season I would have laughed out loud but we see what they accomplished and when i look at their roster I can't say it's better than Dallas has this season as well as the new coaching additions so chin up and stay on the wagon till the wheels fall off because that's what real cowboy fans do

I get that way sometimes. I look at that tortuous span of time.

After 32 seasons, even if they do win a Super Bowl, they are only satisfying the law of averages.

Ironically, since the overall odds are 32 to 1, a Super Bowl title would only add to the legacy of mediocrity.

But then the game comes on and I see the star on the helmet.
Is it loyalty or is it 50 years of programming, a human example of Pavlov's dogs?

Perhaps someone else can escape this fanatical obsession. It's too late for me.

UMM, just wow… I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I mean, we need to see how it all works out. There have been some solid rebuilding years under Parcells, with great drafts and standout players; Hall of Famers, All-Pros, and Pro Bowlers have all passed through here. We've had several seasons that felt promising, which is why people are feeling optimistic now. This momentum didn’t just start this offseason; it began last year with moves like trading Parsons for value and mid-season additions like Quinn. Williams.

Yes, the bigger purge happened this year, but there have been seasons with similar highs and lows. I’m just a bit more inspired because I’ve been watching since last offseason, hoping the changes would pay off. So far, there’s been steady progress, and maybe more moves could come by the trade deadline.

While it’s encouraging to see these efforts from the front office, comparing it to teams like the Rams, who have done even more,

it’s clear there’s still work to be done.

I kind of get where this is coming from in all those seasons of rebuilding even with Parcells at the helm (the game had past him bye) Jerry always had too many unchecked boxes especially with the sub-par coaching. The OT position is still worrisome would like a more reliable veteran corner, but I do like this staff the most since Jimmy left mainly the defensive over hall.

I'm still checked out for the most part because I don't think Schottenheimer is a very good coach. I guess I'll give him a mulligan for last year because of the defense, but the Arizona and Minnesota games left a horrible taste in my mouth with him.

That's how I'm able to just stay more steady less emotional less highs and lows and just more in the middle because I've come to grips with sports is a one year one off week to week affair and you've got to put it behind you when the new year starts.

I get people's frustration but I also have bigger perspective i've seen longer droughts all over football I've seen way longer droughts in other sports and I know the other 3 DFW teams that I follow not as hardcore but the Stars and Rangers and Mavericks I hate to break it to you but those teams have only three championships between them one each for their entire existence so sometimes when I hear these narratives about the drought it's 30 something years well you know what It is frustrating but at the same time it's not unheard of it's actually pretty normal.

If championship seasons even making it to the championship games or the actual Super Bowl or whatever it's called in that in the other leagues If it was that easy everyone would be doing it and and the Cowboys would have been left in the dust by all these other teams and they haven't the top heavy club the Dallas Cowboys belong to with two dynasties and five Super Bowls and counting is still very special to be part of because it is they are not gapping us..

You really don't get people's frustration, when they have them you like to get mad at them for being human and you go off on your rants, scolding people for how they feel!!

I'll be watching Sunday night because I am a fan and want the Cowboys to win. Not gonna lie, Jerral and crew make it difficult to get excited about a team that hasn't been a playoff contender for a long time.
