I would fire McCarthy and promote Quinn if we lose on Monday

Shanahan is a proven choke artist you mean? The guy has lost leads in 3 superbowls. 3.
Shanahan wasn't the head coach in Atlanta and he helped put up 28 points, enough of a lead for the defensive HC and DC to have a cushion.

You're coping about Quinn.

I would give the saints what they want for Sean and make Jerry go upstairs and shut up and just worry about marketing. Keep Quinn and draft A stud DT in the first.

Well, that's a pipe dream.

No. Shanahan decided to not run the ball. As he did in his first SB with San Fran. And his Second.

Reading is key: He got them 28 points. They had a 25 point lead for most of the game.

Also, last I checked, these situational things still go through the HC. A key point you're leaving out here. But keep coping.

Listen to Jayron Kearse's comments about Quinn at the 2:33 mark. He called him "heaven sent". I've heard several players speak very highly of Quinn in this fashion. He obviously has a very strong personal connection w/ the players. On the other hand, I've seen Dak struggle describing his relationship w/ McCarthy when asked about it by the media, and I've heard Micah say he doesn't talk w/ McCarthy much. I believe Kearse is the only one who has come out and openly praised McCarthy. Because of this dynamic, I trust Quinn w/ the keys more than McCarthy and wouldn't hesitate to make the switch if we lose on Monday. I don't care that the defense has fallen off late in the season, that has more to do w/ the injuries/personnel. Quinn is a true leader of men, I don't want to see this thing w/out him next season. Thoughts?

If we fire McCarthy, I’m paying the price to bring in the combination of Sean Payton and Vic Fangio.

Then I’ve got a great coach for my offense and a great coach for my defense.

If we just put Quinn in the chair, we still need an offensive coach.

Only person that matters is Jerry.
What will he do?

I would really like to see how our offensive talent, especially dak would do in a different offensive system.
Was really disappointed Mac did not install his.

I've been watching cowboys for 30 years and i can say this is the least wanted to watch game i've ever wanted to watch. Will i watch probably am i pumped up about it NO because the BUCs have had our number 3 different times over the last few years, and i dont see it changing because we have the same OC and DC we've had the other 3 times. IM just not not thinking we are going to do anything different and bucs will shred us on defense and Dak will try and over compensate causing more problems and we will loose 35 to 17

Same here.

And I feel the Payton is a more complete offensive game planner than McCarthy. If you recall, he transformed in New Orleans as Drew Brees aged from a pass dominant to a run dominant offense. I’ve never seen the same from McCarthy.

I think he could do a better job of being creative in both aspects of offense. That’s something I haven’t seen in Dallas for a long, long time.

But Dak did not want to change the offense. This has been reported several times that he wanted Kellen to stay on board and to keep the offense. McCarthy, not wanting to ruffle any feathers upon getting the job, obliged. Dak learning a complex west coast system at this stage of his career would be interesting.

Who is in charge of this team?
Could you imagine Jimmy or Bill being told this by his QB?
Dallas has a definite culture problem.

If MM is fired, and DQ leaves for a HC say, in Denver.
Then Jerry will promote Moore to HC, or the new HC will be stuck with Moore.

Moore is to Jerry like Jason was to Jerry. Be careful what you wish for.
Jerry is senile. Prepare for this news.
- Before McCarthy is fired (should that be the case) i would think they (management) would already have a plan in place for his replacement, and act accordingly.

- If it's to be Dan Quinn, they are gonna inform Quinn their wish to promote him to new HC.
If it''s Quinn departing to a new HC outside the team, as the team is insistent in moving on from McCarthy, then the immediate plan has to be making a pitch for Sean Payton.

- Kellen Moore ?
I'd be both utterly shocked and disappointed, as that's an X's and O's guy whose flaws were even called out by Jerry per interview in 'post '21 playoff loss exit.

- i flat out do Not .. Will Not believe the team will explore an outside new young assistant for the HC role ... And most definitely Not a college HC... (sorry Lincoln Riley or Kirby Smart mania fans !!)

Going into 2023, it's gonna be one of these following guys as Cowboys HC.
1) Mike McCarthy
2) Sean Payton
3) Dan Quinn
