I would fire McCarthy and promote Quinn if we lose on Monday

McCarthy is a Super Bowl winning head coach with a phenomenal track record. His track record is just as good as Sean Payton’s, who people treat as a genius HC. In 16 years as a HC, McCarthy has made the playoffs 11 times, with 3 trips to the NFCCG.

Besides a SB appearance, Quinn does not have the track record. I wouldn’t fire McCarthy even if we lose on Monday.

Same here. I think Mike should stay. Especially considering how he kept the team together through the turmoil both this season and last season. I don't understand the hate for Mike. Especially since Payton is about the same in terms of track record, and had and easier QB to work with to accomplish his resume.

Terrible thread.

Hey maybe the "leader of men" can ask the guy who can't lead what it feels like to hoist a Lombardi as a HC.

And, if we were going to get rid of McCarthy, I'd want someone that makes the players uncomfortable. The last thing I'd look for with this coddled group is a player's coach.

Parcells would have spent this entire week telling this team everybody expects them to lose and ask them what they're going to do about it. He'd highlight the beatdown in the opener. He'd needle each and every one of them. Who are you? You never win.

Parcells is overrated. He stuck with Bledsoe way too long. He should have started Romo a year earlier.

What has McCarthy done for Dak? What has he done to elevate his game and hold him accountable?
Back-to-back 12 win seasons, Dak looked like the MVP front-runner before he broke his ankle, and looked very good last season, save a few games stretch. This year he hasn't had the weapons he had in the past and had a tough injury early. Despite that, the TEAM brought everything together and through some pretty major adversity managed to win 12 games and contend for a high playoff seed until the end. Is that all simply because we have good coordinators?

Listen to Jayron Kearse's comments about Quinn at the 2:33 mark. He called him "heaven sent". I've heard several players speak very highly of Quinn in this fashion. He obviously has a very strong personal connection w/ the players. On the other hand, I've seen Dak struggle describing his relationship w/ McCarthy when asked about it by the media, and I've heard Micah say he doesn't talk w/ McCarthy much. I believe Kearse is the only one who has come out and openly praised McCarthy. Because of this dynamic, I trust Quinn w/ the keys more than McCarthy and wouldn't hesitate to make the switch if we lose on Monday. I don't care that the defense has fallen off late in the season, that has more to do w/ the injuries/personnel. Quinn is a true leader of men, I don't want to see this thing w/out him next season. Thoughts?

I disagree, Quinn is a one trick pony and every since his pony has started to weaken and show signs of being human Q

I disagree, Quinn is a one trick pony and since his pony has started to weaken and is showing signs of being human Quinn hasn't been able to make adjustments to help this defense get back to their dominating ways. He's stayed with the same defensive concept and that is to keep Parsons on the edge and bull rush his opponent down after down which is only deflating the only defensive player who has mattered the last two years. Quinn has come up with nothing new or edgy, he's shown the whole league that his bag of treats is empty. Quinn has come out and said he's not interested in moving on, he's happy just where he is so if there is a HC change then it should be someone outside this organization who is YOUNG and has FRESH football mind.

Firing McCarthy to promote Dan Quinn makes no sense to me. If Big Mike gets fired, hire someone from outside the organization.

That said, head coach isn't the problem. It's who's hiring them. How many has he gone through since Jimmy? How's that worked?

If we lose to the Bucs, I'm all for changing head coaches because if there's no progress, we don't need to hang on like we did with Garrett. I'm not sure about changing to Quinn, though, as it would depend on the defense's role in the loss. Frankly, if the defense plays poorly, I might be more apt to keep McCarthy and let Quinn go. If the offense plays poorly, then we need to at least cut bait with Moore if not McCarthy as well.

The bar for success definitely needs to be higher than just making the playoffs or winning 12 games.

The only chance McCarthy has of getting fired is if the Cowboys lay as big an egg against Tampa as they did a week ago against Washington. Don’t know why fans want Dan Quinn as the next HC when he only had two winning seasons in Atlanta in six years. His defense is already falling apart, and has coughed up two big leads. That’s all his teams did in Atlanta was cough up big leads. He would be just another Jerry Jones puppet. The Cowboys have already had a couple of coordinators, Dave Campo and Jason Garrett promoted to HC and it didn’t work. Don’t know how any fan could get excited about Dan Quinn as the next HC. McCarthy will be back next season unless the Bucs game is a complete debacle.

Me thoughts is tha Kearney should marry Quinn.

Also, lets see how the D, known as the sieve, does against the Bucs before we anoint St. Quinn.
His D has stunk recently, good lad.
