I would try trading for one of Detroits WRs

We're not in the business of making big trades? You say that because we haven't made a big trade in a while? How often do you think we made big trades? I mean we just traded a 3rd rounder for Henson a couple years ago.

Blindzebra, they already have too many top receivers, and he hasn't been able to stay healthy? lol... despite what happened with jacob rogers, 2 years of injuries doesn't make a player unable to stay healthy.

Wouldn't make sense for Detroit to trade for a WR now wouldn't it.

No. They wouldn't have drafted Mike Williams if they weren't going to utilize 3 #1 recievers. This team is stacked. I think that's how Mariucci wants it. I doubt he'd be a taker on a trade. Think about it. He already had 2 great recievers ... and then what did he do?

Oh ...

Mike Williams ...

Detroit is going places.

This is a lame thread. The Cowboys are no longer in the business of trading away high draft picks for another teams current player(s). You build your team through the draft. Free agency is a luxury where you try and fill in the gaps while managing your cap and holding on to precious draft picks for the annual draft.

Instead of knocking everyones threads, why don't you start one worth reading then? I'm not trying to be anal, but the last two threads(one started by me) I've opened, you've basically shot them down.

They run a 3 wide 1 back offense, so having 3 first round receivers is not too many, if it means your offense may be impossible to defend.

If you have been in the league two years and suffered season ending injuries in both seasons and played in just 6 of 32 possible games...what the heck else should we call it?

I agree. They are stacked. I'm jealous. When it comes time to pay a QB, RB, and 3#1 WRs....how do they do it? They won't be able to afford a good defense. I think they'll let Rogers go in FA when the time comes....I would snatch him up in a heartbeat.

You misread. Trading away top draft picks for players is something the Cowboys are better off not taking part of. We are in the midst of our 1st true rebuilding year and to trade away our 1st and 3rd next year for a WR is something that would disrupt what we've put together this year. Even the better, more stable teams in the league wouldn't give up 2 high draft picks to plug in a good WR. Those deals always work out better for the team getting the picks, not giving them up.

I don't know ... they picked Mike Williams and then went all defense in the draft.

As that goofy dude on ESPN says, "Quite franky, that's all you need" ...

If coach Mariucci can't have a winning season with the personnel he's surrounded himself with, he's got problems.

I don't think their defense is terrible, but I'll take their offense over anyone's at this point ... Philly, Indy, St. Loui, Oakland etc ... I'll take Detroit's.

They're going to be a pretty fun team to watch. And I've always liked them since Roy Williams went there. He's my favorite WR. And he's going to get 1,000 yards even with those other guys playing with him and getting the ball.

Detroit should be great in a year or so. If MW is as good as advertised and CR can stay healthy.....detroit can be the younger version of Indy....maybe better if their defense can be above average.

Think St. Louis back when they were winning SB's.

I don't know anything about that. I'd send them a 4th if we had one. He is a playmaker....just hasn't been healthy.

I feel aweful that I'm more excited about the potential of detroits offense than I am about the Cowboys.....sad.

And a twice injured, 6 out of 32 game playing WR IS NOT WORTH a player and two draft picks.

FYI, Oakland gave up a player and two picks for Randy Moss, HELLO:D

This isn't a video game... Detroit wouldn't give up any of those 3 unless we gave them something ridiculous.

We're not trading RW for a never-has-been, coulda-woulda-been but "Ain't" Charles Rogers.

And we are in the midst of building a superbowl caliber defense and you want to tamper with that?

You can win with a good QB a great offensive line, and an okay supporting cast on offense, if you have an outstanding defense. Remember that.

Randy Moss was considered a cancer. I've never heard Rogers described as that.

Everyone else, the lions and their wco and talent is obviously the most serious in football. Every team in the nfl including the colts have to be envious of what they have going there for the future. The Colts are about to fall apart.

smashmouth, we need that great offensive line. We don't have that.

Honestly I believe we need to draft a receiver in the first round next year, and then a tackle in the 2nd round, and then perhaps another receiver in the 3rd. Either a receiver or a linebacker depending on how well Crayton and Bradie James do this year.

True, but at the same time we stockpiled draft picks too. So essentially we gained more at a later date.
