I would try trading for one of Detroits WRs

Think St. Louis back when they were winning SB's.

Let's take the apostrophie off that SB's. How about Super Bowl? And yes, I do know that they went to two. But pulled an Eagirls and lost in their second.

Anquon Boldon is the guy I'd like to have that's in the realm of possibility....
had some issues with AZ and they could be tempted....maybe
but it'd probably take a player and a day one pick.....
we can trade them Coakley, Singleton, Cundiff, Morgan, Quincy Carter, and Vinny Testaverde...straight up for Boldon...what do you think?

You're on crack.

STL's D was ranked towards the top of the league in the year they won the SB. It was the following year that it was awful, when the Saints knocked them out in the 1st round of the play-offs

I know. They lost to the Pats. And the Greatest Show on Turf was taken over by New England's dominance these past few years.

Correction: Going to SB's ... winning SB (singular). ;)

:lmao2: They had a decent defense at best, I'll give em that. They made their living by outscoring other teams.

Yeah, there was some sarcasm there. I'm not trying to offend. But they did not have a good or great defense by any means. They were in the bottom of the league when they were making noise with their team. It was all O.

Elaborate. I remember them getting their ace handed to them on D. I could very well be wrong though.

Gordon should have said that the Ram's defense in their 1999 title run had the best run defense in the NFL at the time. Not sure where their pass defense ranked. But the Rams had a decent D. The offense was the jugernaut that made the D look better than it really was.

I actually did a little researching, since I was curious myself. I can't find anything on the '99 Defense, but according to nfl.com, in 2001, STL had the #1 Ranked D in the NFC. That was the year the Pats upset them in the SB. I was actually kind of surprised by that myself.

In fairness, usually the team that let's up the least yardage isn't always the best defense (e.g. 2003 Cowboys). I remember, even though they were ranked #1 in D, they didn't really have a devastating defense. The fact that they et up a small amount of yards is probably as a result of them jumping out to big leads and other teams being forced to pass on every play, in desperation.

I'll try to dig up some '99 numbers.
