On the NFL Network, Ian Rappoport just reported that Chicago might be willing to part with last years 2nd round pick, Tevin Jenkins, out of Oklahoma State.

He was drafted as a right tackle and is a very aggressive, mean player. I liked him because of his attitude but haven’t paid attention to him since he went to Chicago.

Apparently he’s not a great fit there because Rappoport said there is a chance that he’s outright released. That is news to me because he was a pretty highly rated prospect.

He’s interesting to me because he plays so strong and mean… and apparently the team has been looking for that toughness this whole offseason. However, I have zero knowledge of how he’s played at Chicago.

He definitely isn’t a LT, I don’t think, but he can play RT, possibly moving Steele to LT.

If they may be willing to release him, the cost shouldn’t be high and his toughness might interest the Cowboys.

Has anyone paid attention to him in Chicago? I know little of him since he was drafted last season.

I think he has had issues with his back. Good upside pick, but probably won't help right away.

He had major back surgery last off-season and is missing time again this camp. Not a good sign, especially for a large individual carrying around a bunch of weight. Not pretending to have any inside info, but possible his body just isn’t going to hold up.

Jenkins denied it…but there were also rumors that he had issues with the new coaching staff

On an already highly penalized team, do we really want someone you describe as "very aggressive" and "mean"?

Missed 11 of 17 games last year. Have to be a verry low pick,

Can’t have too much of that, IMO. Erik Williams was mean as hell. That helps the whole line.

You don’t help penalties by getting passive players. You help it with coaching. IMO of course.

Moot point anyway if the guy has a bad back. I wouldn’t touch him.

This is probably the type of solution we end up with. Early round draft pick that's shown to be a bust, but the Cowboys think they can fix em.

I think if his back is healed he can be a solid player. Just not sure at tackle

This FO is not looking to give up any draft picks in acquiring their "depth" in the OL. The places they are looking are not on other teams' rosters but in dumpsters, trash bins, under rocks, and on living room couches. Just looking for warm bodies with a heart beat who once played the position in their lifetimes. Not exactly something to be encouraged about.

Call them and offer 7th with a bump to 6th based on playing time.
