On the NFL Network, Ian Rappoport just reported that Chicago might be willing to part with last years 2nd round pick, Tevin Jenkins, out of Oklahoma State.

He was drafted as a right tackle and is a very aggressive, mean player. I liked him because of his attitude but haven’t paid attention to him since he went to Chicago.

Apparently he’s not a great fit there because Rappoport said there is a chance that he’s outright released. That is news to me because he was a pretty highly rated prospect.

He’s interesting to me because he plays so strong and mean… and apparently the team has been looking for that toughness this whole offseason. However, I have zero knowledge of how he’s played at Chicago.

He definitely isn’t a LT, I don’t think, but he can play RT, possibly moving Steele to LT.

If they may be willing to release him, the cost shouldn’t be high and his toughness might interest the Cowboys.

Has anyone paid attention to him in Chicago? I know little of him since he was drafted last season.

lets be clear, just stop..

steele is NOT a LT he is above average at RT meaning not great but serviceable, as a LT its not a good move..you go with TS73 before you make that move.its either a LT or swing tackle or just roll with what you have on the team.. none of the recommendations on making more than one move is smart. ts73 is a lT and roiling with CM as LG is also more his natural spot.

so no rearranging nonsense or nonsense of make a defender an OL?? seriously:facepalm:

you get a LT or swing tackle that can cover both sides in an emergency and roll with

73-CM-TB-ZM-Steele

you want not so good fit guy, other payers who are as much a projects that Ball and Wally are? i mean maybe an overpaid aging vet who did not perform well last year or 2?? or what an expensive player like Wynn, who was also injury prone up until last year? maybe wynn would be the best move if they believe Hes over his injury bad luck and NE doesn't fleece us on draft capitol because hes already got big contract.

that what i keep seeing here 15 threads on bad ideas and so far im rolling with " our guys" even if i have to hear we like our guy snarky remarks from the peanut gallery here.rather let TS73 go get his lumps OJT..tiem is now unles real player an actual LT is found.. we do need one of these guys possibly as Swing tackle but so far TS73 is the best option at LT.

A young draft pick, from a team with one of the worst offensive lines in football, might be available?

There are no quick fixes, no matter how much we'd like one.
For me, it was much more about a player that I liked in last year’s draft being available, than it was necessarily trying to fix this line’s problems. I made a thread last year before that draft about how much I liked Jenkins attitude.

Once I discovered he has been having serious back issues with Chicago, I no longer was interested.

Had Tyron Smith still been healthy, I likely would’ve still made this thread because I really liked the player.

You create a thread asking to trade for Tevin Jenkins. Then later throughout the thread, you backtrack and demand the Cowboys not trade for him after all?

Which is it bro? :muttley:
I said in the initial post that I liked him him the ‘21 draft but hadn’t really followed him since Chicago took him. I asked if anyone had any info on him.

Then, some guys said that he had serious back issues which killed any wish to have him in Dallas. So I said forget it.

It is all written in this thread.

Pay attention. Zack is the best member of the OL and has previously stated several times that he has no interest in playing either LT or RT. He's the elder statesman and should not be pissed off.

Never seen that quote before and read the other day he was open to the idea. If he’s a team player he’ll
Do what’s best for the team. I can’t imagine Zack making a comment like that but maybe he did.

You must not see much or read much. Try 103.the fan or Fish or Blogging the Boys or Dallas Cowboys.com. Any other source is just speculation.
At his age, he is not going to take over any position detrimental to him making Hall of Fame.

I'll sign up for an interior lineman/right tackle...

Jenkins looks better than McGovern at OG.

You guys don't do your homework, do you? Unbelievable. Come on, guys. Do some recent research before you blast the guy.

Here. Check it out. Read this article and watch the video clips included about the Bears' last preseason game where they recently beat the Browns. Tevin Jenkins dominated.

Here is another video breakdown from that same Bears/Browns preseason game showing Tevin Jenkins' recent surprise improvements...

And here is another video showing Tevin Jenkins' improved performance during the Bears preseason game against the same Seahawks our Cowboys just finished playing...

Yes, Tevin Jenkins looks darn good at Guard! He certainly doesn't look feeble, weak or injured. Imagine him at Left Guard teamed up next to Tyler Smith. 2 big mauling road graders who will totally push and destroy any opposing Dline on our Oline's left side...GUA...RAN...TEED!

If I were the Cowboys, I would be trying very hard to get a trade done right now with the Bears for Tevin Jenkins. Offer the Bears a 2nd or a 3rd. It would be worth it if Tevin Jenkins stays healthy and keeps improving. It would immediately improve our Oline and solidify our left side of our starting Oline right away...making us a contending starting Oline once again.

Do it, Jerry! Don't be greedy. Don't listen to Jr. Get it done. This team is too talented to let this year go to waste.

Very true.

I would offer a 4th with it becoming a conditional late 3rd if he pans out after 1 year...and plug him at Left Guard. Imagine Jenkins and Tyler Smith paired up next to each other on the left side? Solid.

Like Tyler Smith, Jenkins has nasty streak and finishes his blocks.

Would improve Cowboys run game.

I don't think Bears wanting to trade Jenkins is injury related.

Jenkins is not an Eberflus guy, also is a natural OG instead of OT imo.
