It will probably never happen. But I think it would be fun for once every season to see the Cowboys play a “throwback game” at the Cotton Bowl wearing throwback blue and white uniforms, etc. Maybe some “throwback” prices for end zone seats, etc. Seems like it would create some good vibes and PR.

The NHL has been very successful with their throwback outdoor hockey game the last few seasons. Seems like an idea that would be fun and different for the NFL.

But it will probably never happen. Too much cash to be raked in at the giant shopping mall in Arlington.

Would you be in favor?

I remember going to Cowboys game at the Cotton Bowl, facing the Giants in 71. Last game Cowboys played at the cotton bowl. 2 weeks later Cowboys would open up Texas Stadium

My first Cowboys game was when I was 6 at the Cotton Bowl. We had seats about the 20 yl toward the north end zone. I will never forget how cool the uniforms looked and the paint colors in the end zone.

NO not in the RS but a PS game, sure. NHL has typically what 9k fans with 82 games and is a different sport as the NFL has 8-9 Home games and 90+K fans to attend each... fans want to see the game and they sell out those 90k seats quick. point is there no wasting 1 of only 8-9 home games on a glorified exhibition type game. show me the other 31 teams' dog that without being forced IE the out of country games they hate.

you act as if this is a Jerry world thing, show me the other 31 teas that do this? Like i said a PS game, that would be cool.

My 1st one was Cowboys vs Cardinals 2nd Thanksgiving Day game played by the Cowboys. Funny my mom started the tradition because she got upset about cooking Thanksgiving Day dinner and cleaning afterwards while me and my dad were sitting and watching the game. After that we went to every thanksgiving day game played. Except during pandemic and was unable to go last season but happy to say we will be going back this Thanksgiving

For the 17th game of the season, this sort of thing can be done around the league. The Giants can go back to Yankee Stadium to play. The Rams back to the LA Coliseum. Patriots in Fenway Park. Bears at Wrigley Field. Etc. Etc. Make the odd game on the schedule something fun or special. Great idea, Bob.

Packers used to play a game (s) in Milwaukee every season if I recall right.

I like it. Like you, I doubt moneybags would ever do it. What would make it an even better game to watch, some wild weather.

I mentioned it in a thread back in the spring. With the adding of the 17th game, it would be great to put that game back in original stadium each season.

Not only would Jerry never do it, but no team would do it. Im not positive, but it might not even be allowed if they wanted to because I think these current NFL stadiums have certain standards that have to be meant and the old Cotton Bowl likely doesnt meat those standards.

Throw back endzone prices?? Hey, how bout you ask Ford to have some throw back prices on the new ford F150. You know, sell it for old times sake for 15k.... see how well that would go over with Ford. Those of you saying how Jerry is too greedy and would never do it... well neither would any other business.

As great and as sentimental as this sounds can they pack 100,000 people in there?

Yankee stadium? The Giants never played in the stadium the Yankees play in today.

Time marches on... those games at the old stadiums will remain where they belong... in your memories.

92,000 is what Cotton Bowl is capacity. Honestly most college stadiums hold more than most NFL stadium since college games bring in SB sized crowd every weekend.
