That's huge! But the perks of Arlington? Once every decade maybe have a preseason game? lol I just don't see it.

I don't see it either, it is great ideal but Jerry has commitments to AT@T stadium as all owners have obligation to their stadium. Fun to talk about it but it will never happen.

Bob: Jerry would throw you back for bringing that up. All those people NOT sitting in luxury suites NOT consuming over priced food and drink. This whole concept goes against every fiber of Jerry's being.

I was thinking the Cotton Bowls capacity would be a problem but I read where the stadium holds just over 92,000 people. I didn’t realize the Cotton Bowl was that big. I’ve never been in the stadium and it’s been years since I’ve seen it. Google lists AT&T Stadiums capacity at 80,000 but they’ve reported over 90,000 fans for games.

As great and as sentimental as this sounds can they pack 100,000 people in there?

No, but they could play the game at the Cotton Bowl, and Jerry world would have holograms on the field for the rest of the normal Jerry world crowd!

That’s the capacity that keeps coming up. I thought you could only get 50 or 60,000 people in it.

They have expanded seating, 2008 expanded the seating capacity to over 92,000 by encircling the upper deck.

I was just going to mention that after doing a Google. The original seating capacity was just over 45,000.

The big game now days is the red river shoot out with Texas vs Oklahoma

Yeah but they do not call it the shoot out anymore. It became Rivalry, but now it may be something different yet again.

Like the Florida - Georgia game always played in Jacksonville. I was staying in an Extended Stay hotel on the St. John's river, across from downtown for my work one time, and man that place was packed all over for the entire weekend.

These neutral site games draw huge crowds.

Same name, same neighborhood. The Jets can play at Citi Field instead of old Shea Stadium. What's it to ya?
what is it to me? uhm... someone asked a question about throw back games in old stadiums... we are discussing that. Answer your question?

IMO, it can hardly be a throw back game if a team plays in a new baseball stadium.

It will probably never happen. But I think it would be fun for once every season to see the Cowboys play a “throwback game” at the Cotton Bowl wearing throwback blue and white uniforms, etc. Maybe some “throwback” prices for end zone seats, etc. Seems like it would create some good vibes and PR.

The NHL has been very successful with their throwback outdoor hockey game the last few seasons. Seems like an idea that would be fun and different for the NFL.

But it will probably never happen. Too much cash to be raked in at the giant shopping mall in Arlington.

Would you be in favor?
Hell no! Let there be no doubt about my position on the topic at hand. When you have a football palace to play in like Deathstar, AKA AT&T Stadium in Arlington TX, you play in said Deathstar when home games show up on the calendar. No exception!:star::thumbup:

Yeah but just as most all stadiums have done they have increased the overall seating. As I mentioned College stadium for the most part are bigger than the NFL stadiums many pack in over 100,000 every weekend.

And use the Dress Blues uniforms worn in the Colts SB.
