If you really want some perspective into just how fast&bad your 'routine' day behind the wheel can turn to $**t FAST,,, Google some of those websites like orgish or even liveleak( I guess) showing vehicular fatalities as they happen worldwide,,, those dudes on motorcycle/ scooters running to fast and getting squished by the back duals of big rigs should be enough to make a person want to stay off the road altogether ( I'd just watched one of those 15-20 minute compilations a couple weeks back for the first time & really regret doing so)
I had some 'kid' on a motorcycle drafting me one time during the early spring when it would be cold in the morning & warm in the afternoon, well,he had a set of carhart coveralls & his crash helmet wadded up between his legs and right up so close I couldn't see him behind me in a big tri-axle 16 wheeler asphalt truck,,,I'd signaled to make a right turn off a two lane highway and felt an ever so slight 'bump' and looked in the drivers door mirror & this kid had the front tire almost wedged in between my back and middle dual drive wheels,,, well the look of certain death on that kids face was beyond jolting to me & I'd locked the brakes in a 2' skid and them let off as I was navigating a right hand turn,,and when I'd regained focus in the mirror ALL I SAW WAS THAT CRASH HELMET & Body sized set of carhart coveralls go flying off in separate directions,,
OMG! I'd done thought I'd decapitated & killed that kid when I first saw that crap go flying,,,
,,,that two foot long quick brake stab stopped the certain death awaiting him and flipped him and the bike( it was like a pos Honda 450) completely clear,,,,WHEW! thank god almighty, Man!
When the cops got there I asked that kid why he didn't heed my engaged turn signal and he said he couldn't see it as he was to close & the gritty sand particles flying off my truck were in his eyes and he couldn't see,,,
(I was running about 65mph b-4 making my turn,too
)
*EDIT* I was making a LEFT hand turn,my dyslexia Progress's the longer I drink anymore.
