Hurt =/= debilitating.

Again, please read the topic. You keep calling it cap hell, yet you have no idea what you're talking about.

Branch got a 2nd round draft pick, and he was a player who did not have any significant production. Beasley is Romo's 3rd target, but we've yet to see his complete upside. I wouldn't be surprised if we won a super bowl if his value would be as high as a 3rd, more to the point, he was merely an example.

And that is the exact point, certain players you don't want to pay big money to, and that is the same situation we will be in with players like Murray. Yet we're forced to overpay these players or release them because we cant get value out of them in trades. Bennett, Burnett, Canty, Bowen, e.t.c.

no, hurt means:
: to be a source or cause of pain

if means to effect negatively.

it does not mean to have no effect and allow you to proceed without notice.
that is absence of pain.

In 2005 Branch caught 78 passes for 995 yards and was the player of the game in the AFC Champ Game then the Super Bowl MVP.
To say he had accomplished nothing is absurd.
Further his trade value didn't rise. it stayed about the same as his draft rating.
BECAUSE guys cost more money when they hit free agency.

Chris Canty cost us nothing because we didn't want to pay him a big salary.
He won Super Bowls with the Giants yet ended up out of work with zero pay.
His peak value was when NYG added him from us after not winning much of squat.

You are talking out of your ears.

You made a goofy point based on a lot of stuff you made up or were errant about.
Try to be better.

ROFL. You are hopelessly without a clue.

Dez Bryant makes 1.8M in base salary in 2014.
To lower his cap hit with extension is mathematically impossible.
In fact he will almost certainly count a minimum of double in 2014 if extended early.
OR you wait til 2015 and then you have to franchise tag him while you negotiate.
That's about 13m on books until we get him resigned.
And even if his base in 2015 is 800k he'll still cost us more than his 1.8 base in 2014 because he's not signing a deal for 5m or less SB plus base in 2014.
That's so far below his value the NFLPA would file suit if he tried to sign that.
He's getting top 5 WR money.
In case you're curious. CJ and Fitz both got ~115m.... and 16m yearly averages.

As to Ware.
NO! We do not get money back anytime soon. If we cut Ware today he still costs us 8.5m in 2014.
Yes, his base would be reduced but he is ALREADY part of your restructure-fest and without that restructure you don't clear the cap space you describe at all.
So the base money you think you reclaim isn't even real because it is already spent.
After we restructure Ware again for the 4th year in a row he will cost us about 500k more on the roster than if we had simply cut him.
Restructuring him is the only way to save money in 2014 and it means pushing even more money to 2015.
We are as tied to him as we were Jay Ratliff.

Miles saves us all of 400k if we cut him next year. We eat 7.85m for cutting him.
So he likely gets asked to take a moderate pay cut which turns into cap savings or he gets released June 2nd.

You really should do less writing and more reading on this subject.
Overthecap and spotrac have good numbers.
heres a link to the CBA: https://www.nflplayers.com/about-us/CBA-Download/

Your numbers are completely offbase, thanks for showing that you don't know how the salary cap works.

Chris canty cost us nothing, but we also got no value out of him. He got a huge pay day from New York, yet we weren't able to trade him. Why? Because our players don't demand value, because we're a losing franchise.

You keep spouting nonsense, kid.

AP can cost 814k this season? How?

I will say this. AP is reaching the magic number (30), but he's a special breed of athlete. In the scenario that was posted earlier. IF AP's numbers that were projected are to be true I wouldn't mind having him here. He would be a great addition and it would give opposing teams more to think about. Do they stack the box and leave our receivers on an island alone? Do they go dime and leave AP with only 6 in the box? He would take this offense to another level. ......but, realistically I don't see any of this happening.

If we were to get a Viking, I think the player that could address an area of need and have a huge impact would be Jared Allen.

Gailian Beast, in your scenario for AP, could we make cap room for JA??

All of this is hypothetical and I have a lot of fun with these type of threads.

Let's get AP...that way, when he breaks Emmitt's rushing record the All-Time runner will still be a Cowboy :)

ROFL. You are in serious need of mental health attention if you can't understand very basic things like we got Canty for the length of his rookie contact but didn't extend him because he was TOO VALUABLE to other teams.
It wasn't that we couldn't trade him, we chose not to. He was playing at a high level for us as a very reasonable cost.
And when he left we were given a compensatory pick.

Did winning a Super Bowl raise his value? Did the Giants trade him for riches?
Did they trade Marty B?

What you are saying is just dumb, dumb, dumb.

The Dallas Cowboys draw enough attention that guys don't often fall through cracks here.
How did one year here effect Laurent Robinson?
He only feels like he won the Super Bowl when he checks his bank account balance.

As to the cap stuff I know a heck of a lot more than your clueless sputterings.

Vikings are not going anywhere, especially in a division with Packers, bears and lions. AP has about 2-3 year shelf life left and can play longer if he carries less in an offense with Romo/Bryant/Witten/Williams. If, this is a big IF, AP is available for trade, what are you willing to give up?

And why would he be available ?

and NO

He looked dinged up last night, certainly wasn't impressive at all.

I wonder how the Colts feel about giving up that 1 for Richardson? I know its early, but that's looking pretty bad so far.

He was up vs 8 in the box with no pass threat.

You can't compare AP with Richardson.

Adding AP would make us instant SB contenders and give us the best QB/RB/WR combination in the league then I can last remember.

What would people here be willing to give up to have a running game like we had with 22 back in the day? I know its only hypothetical. But i saw a thing on tv today saying should AP leave the vikings. I also know the vikings will not give us anything easy after the Walker trade. But in theory what would you be willing to let go of for AP?

I want to say that this subject has been beat to death but.... the rumors keep showing up.
Would I like to have him? Heck yeah. Hes a undeniable talent.
Can we affort him? Doubtful
Can we afford to lose all the picks it would cost? I assume it would be atleast two 1st. I dont think we can afford that.

We can't afford him, and I don't think that we should trade for him.

This team doesn't run much now, so I see no point of giving up high draft picks(and mucho dinero) for another back to be used the same way in this scheme. Yes, he is a lot better than Murray yet he is also older, not sure how much tread is left on those tires.

The filp side....if teams stacked the box against us to stop Adrian, Romo would light them up.

He is just too much money and that will affect Dez and others when their time comes. Dallas has been doing well with their draft picks lately, lets keep it that way. There are quite a few good backs coming out soon.

This is my offer: nothing.

A $15M/yr RB who's turning 29 in March? Never, no way, nohow.

Anyone who is 28 will turn 29 eventually.

What would seem the most troublesome is the draft picks that would be required. If this highly unlikely deal were to ever be worked out it would absolutely make the Cowboys a better team. Probably much better.

I would love to have him... but there is no way on God's green Earth that I'd trade away what the Vikes would want for him.

He would change the entire complexion of our offense though. Peterson would absolutely love it. With Romo throwing the ball like he does, AP would have a crap load of room to run.

It would make us immediate contenders, IMO.

Alas, I absolutely wouldn't give up more than next year's #1 for him, and they wouldn't give him away for that.
