If Brandon Carr was all pro, would we be more active in free agency?

I guess it didn't work as we know to Jerry which has seemingly haunted him from spending over the last 10+ years in free agency. If it had worked out better and Carr was a great player, would this have changed Jerry's mind, and made him a believer in doing this more often?? Please give your thoughts
No! Brandon Carr is irrelevant. High end outside FAs almost always invariably fail. If they weren’t high risk to fail their previous team would have found a way to resign him.
Look at what Washington did this year. Tons of cap, instead of paying the Hanyesworths they signed a bunch of solid, productive players to mid level contracts that they can walk away from fairly easily in a year or 2 after drafting someone better. It’s Jerry’s normal playbook in seasons when he doesn’t have 3 massive contracts all at once on the horizon!
