]Not in demand? He signed first day available[/B]! He was very, very, very reasonable here - makes all the sense in the world to lock him in now. We make a deep playoff run and he hits open market you are looking at a 4-12 2007 season without him. To compound it Romo is a FA too. All your eggs on Henson:lmao2:

Mark that down:p:
He signed with Dallas because of parcells that does not put him in much demand
and he signed for a very reasonable contract why because other teams were not blowing up his phone.

Cause we all remember what kind of bidding war we were in to sign him last year.

Yes I remember - We signed Bledsoe the second he was available!

He's starter this year and next sans injury - JJ needs to lock him in.

Except I believe he already said when he was done in Dallas, he was done.

He isn't the type that will bolt for cash. He certainly wasn't in demand last time he was free.

It would be a silly extension if you ask me.

Not In Demand??? You must have forgot that When Bledsoe was released there were 6 teams wanting him as their starter and that was just 4 hours after he was a free agent.

Dallas moved FAST and signed him at 9:00am the first morning of his Free Agent status to avoid anyone else snatching him.

Bledsoe himself said there 5 other teams that already contacted him and he was considering them but Dallas was his first choice.

Parcells and Jerry Jones wasted no time to allow him to re-consider.

Or else what? He's not in high demand..... He knew that last year when he jumped at the chance to play here. If he thought he had a few takers, I'm sure he would have weighed his options.

Don't worry Drew Bledsoe is not going anywhere. We have many other priorities, like finding a few guys who can protect Drew Bledsoe, for example.

History does not agree with your statement.
Exactly 1 year ago Bledsoe was cut and signed first day free.

I laid out many starved QB teams that would take Bledsoe at a drop of a hat over their messes. Proven #1 overall - get er done JJ and lock him up so we can get on to matter at hand - winning Super Bowls and not whining about 5 wins seasons and shmuck QB's.:p:

now, if BP wasn't coaching, how many were interested in bledsoe?

you wonder why people sense bias in you, nors.

I'm sure Bledsoe "SAID" that.

What did you think he would say.

Before we put dollars down, lets see who's starting and playing for us this year. Not sure how the 3rd year option is written (Adam, some help if you know?). Maybe Bledsoe may not even want to buy it out if thats the option, especially if he's beaten out in training camp ? Who knows ?

Big bucks on an older FA is something that has been dicussed here a lot, JJ has even mentioned that we don't want to spend big money on older players, he has his wounds from the past to prove its not a good idea.

You name 6 teams that would have named him the starter upon signing him "GOOD LUCK". Will the MANLOVE never cease.

Let's cut our losses now, he stinks. No way should they resign him, unless it will help this years cap, because next year neither he nor his daddy Parcells will be here.:lmao:

I will admit that Bledsoe has to win a blinkie to gain my respect.

As of right now he is a guy that cant get it done. Lost his job to a 6th rounder that makes better decisions. When its crunch time he is 50-50 at best. You wont get that far in a playoff set of 3-4 games. 1 and out, 2 and out....

He lost his job to a 6th rounder? who was Tom Brady where a person is drafted has nothing to do with how that player will do and the fact is Brady would beat out the vast majority of QB in the NFL so the Pats going with a younger QB making less money made sense. As for winning SB teams do that there has never been a single QB to win a SB by himself it takes a team to win championships.

Extend a guy who is going to be 36 when his contract expires? No thanks.
Exactly ask the Raiders how they felt when they decided to "lock up" their geezer QB Gannon. At 36 he will be lucky to find a starting job and he knows it. We have all the cards and no incentive to negotiate. There are bigger fish to fry this offseason.

I wouldn't extend his contract unless both our young QBs flame out and as of now there's no evidence they will. If he leaves after next year so be it. Thank you Drew Bledsoe for all you've done, have a nice life bro.

Contrary to some opinions this team can succeed without Drew Bledsoe at the helm.

I don't care who the QB ends up being as long as they have a future ahead of them as opposed to a sketchy past and they get the job done. I really don't.

4 members of the super duper drew crew just went to jamica to get a voodoo doll made up, just for you
3 members are in a heated debate about the *exact* words you just used and how some of the letters made others letters around them better letters.
1 member doesn't care but he is repainting a certain drew/guitar pic to add 3 more feet to the overall pic for george lucas will quit wanting to do WILLOW II, Rockin the Bad Guys every time he sees the pic
2 members in training just wet their underoos in anger

and the other 99% of the fans in here went GIMME A HELL YEA!!! and had a beer cause it's friday.

They did last year giving Romo a $2M contract.
If we lock Bledsoe down with CBA we probably trade Romo for a 2nd to 3rd rounder. Draft a QB for future.

Nors, no one has called you on this, so I'm guessing it was over read by everyone else. What GM in their right mind would give a 2nd or 3rd for an unproven undrafted backup QB? If we could get that, I'd make that trade in a second regardless of Bledsoe's contract status..
