He signed with Dallas because of parcells that does not put him in much demandNors[B said:]Not in demand? He signed first day available[/B]! He was very, very, very reasonable here - makes all the sense in the world to lock him in now. We make a deep playoff run and he hits open market you are looking at a 4-12 2007 season without him. To compound it Romo is a FA too. All your eggs on Henson
Mark that down:

EveryoneElse said:Cause we all remember what kind of bidding war we were in to sign him last year.
junk said:Except I believe he already said when he was done in Dallas, he was done.
He isn't the type that will bolt for cash. He certainly wasn't in demand last time he was free.
It would be a silly extension if you ask me.
Nors said:Yes I remember - We signed Bledsoe the second he was available!
He's starter this year and next sans injury - JJ needs to lock him in.
Nors said:History does not agree with your statement.
Exactly 1 year ago Bledsoe was cut and signed first day free.
I laid out many starved QB teams that would take Bledsoe at a drop of a hat over their messes. Proven #1 overall - get er done JJ and lock him up so we can get on to matter at hand - winning Super Bowls and not whining about 5 wins seasons and shmuck QB's.:
KingTuna said:Not In Demand??? You must have forgot that When Bledsoe was released there were 6 teams wanting him as their starter and that was just 4 hours after he was a free agent.
Dallas moved FAST and signed him at 9:00am the first morning of his Free Agent status to avoid anyone else snatching him.
Bledsoe himself said there 5 other teams that already contacted him and he was considering them but Dallas was his first choice.
Parcells and Jerry Jones wasted no time to allow him to re-consider.

You name 6 teams that would have named him the starter upon signing him "GOOD LUCK". Will the MANLOVE never cease.KingTuna said:Not In Demand??? You must have forgot that When Bledsoe was released there were 6 teams wanting him as their starter and that was just 4 hours after he was a free agent.

As of right now he is a guy that cant get it done. Lost his job to a 6th rounder that makes better decisions. When its crunch time he is 50-50 at best. You wont get that far in a playoff set of 3-4 games. 1 and out, 2 and out....
Exactly ask the Raiders how they felt when they decided to "lock up" their geezer QB Gannon. At 36 he will be lucky to find a starting job and he knows it. We have all the cards and no incentive to negotiate. There are bigger fish to fry this offseason.TheHustler said:Extend a guy who is going to be 36 when his contract expires? No thanks.
Hostile said:Contrary to some opinions this team can succeed without Drew Bledsoe at the helm.
Nors said:They did last year giving Romo a $2M contract.
If we lock Bledsoe down with CBA we probably trade Romo for a 2nd to 3rd rounder. Draft a QB for future.
