NFL Rumors & Notes

Quarterback Drew Bledsoe finds himself looking for a team after the Buffalo Bills announced their intention to cut him. And he said the Cowboys are one of the possible landing spots he finds "intriguing." Bledsoe also made it clear he is not signing with the Cowboys, or any team to help groom a young quarterback or be an insurance policy. He said he will sign only to be the starting quarterback. "Backing up anybody is not something I foresee for me," Bledsoe said during a conference call Wednesday. "I just don't see myself ever being a backup in this league. If it comes to that, you will probably see me tip my hat and head back here to the Northwest." The Bills can't officially release Bledsoe until Tuesday under NFL rules, but they gave him permission to begin negotiating with other teams. The Cowboys are one of the teams interested in Bledsoe, according to a source, although there is some concern about what signing Bledsoe might do to second-year quarterback Drew Henson's development. Other teams who might be interested in Bledsoe are Cleveland, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Arizona.
