The only issue for me is with Irving and Moore coming back, you need to clear 3 spots. That's tough. I'd cut Wilber, Noodle, and a RB. Jaylon Elliot can take Wilber's special team snaps.

The two players we added, Elliot and Benkiwere, are living on borrowed time IMO. Now, I'd much rather drop Kellen Moore than either of them, but it seems to me that we brought them in as placeholders.

If we brought back Ware, I see no need to keep Damontre Moore.

Ware, now 35, spent a good chunk of the offseason debating whether he should return to the Cowboys after three seasons and a Super Bowl Championship with Denver or call it a career. Yesterday, he told ESPN’s Todd Archer that he came pretty close to choosing the former. Even more, Ware admitted he may not be all the way done with playing, and could listen to a pitch to once again play for Dallas.

“If Jerry calls me, I’ll answer the phone,” Ware said. “I will answer the phone.”

D. Ware doesn't need Von Miller on the opposite side of him to bend the corner and get around the edge.

Also, he's going to be a situational guy.

We shouldn't even think about asking him to carry the load like he used to carry for us.

Just come in and be apart of a rotation and have your hand in the dirt for us in the 4th quarter of some of these late season games.

Stop it with the DWare disappearing in big games garbage. He was basically a 1 man band.

DWare couldn't stay healthy playing situationally in a 3-4 last year. Now you want him to play end in a 4-3. I'm not personally going to speak negative of his play while in Dallas, but I don't think he's going to give us anything now we aren't going to get already from the young and hungry guys on the roster or on suspension. His 2016 stats are 10 games , 4 sacks (only 3 individual with two half), 9 tackles. He'd be a downgrade at this point.

As much as I'd love to see D Ware come back and try for another ring, coach up the young guys, where is he going on the team:

Crawford, Charlton, Lawrence, Mayowa, Tapper are the DEs right now. We have Irving and Moore coming back from suspensions after weeks 2 and 4.

Who are we cutting to sign him? I think right now he's still probably better than most of our guys, but you still have to wonder if with his age and who we'd cut to sign him if it's worth it.

Don't rush it..

Just let a month or 2 go by.

If we are still looking elite around that time then sign him up. If not then don't worry about it.

We could have an injury too.

Start thinking about this move around late October or November.

Good question. Setting aside the contract dollars...he wouldn't come free. We'd need to yield up one of our younger guys. Now...perhaps we could trade a guy for a mid-round or late-round pick?

Ware isn't the same guy as when we had him before...and he's not even the same player that won a Super Bowl. He had four sacks and nine tackles in his most recent season.

I suspect we won't be in any hurry to do anything and will want to assess what kind of production we can get with what we have.

Ware would be a great player/coach for us and he'll be welcomed back with open arms IMO. I think he can easily play another two years as a 3rd down specialist.

He wouldn't even be the oldest player on the team. Ladoucer and Witten are older and they aren't going anywhere soon.

Not to mention, he's our all-time sack leader folks!

Yes, I'm definitely climbing aboard this train.

He could be an asset during the final part of the season and the playoffs when all the others are hurting. If we're not getting Gregory back for the playoffs I wouldn't mind Ware as a pass rushing specialist then.

Do it. We have the cap space - and Jerry can afford it. Let him compete. If he's still got something to offer--great. If not, it will still provide a little nostalgia and maybe he can teach our young guys a few things.

It would be a 1 year deal so we could offer him whatever amount and it wouldn't be an issue.
