Yes, do it! Ware on 3rd downs would be awesome! If things really get rolling for this team late in the season, I say bring Romo back as our designated holder and get him a ring too!
In place of Moore why not.

i'd love this. at worst he's as good as a bunch of guys we have, and at best he's a force out there and plenty disruptive. not to mention the leadership and example. love ware!

We aren't getting 2009 DWare back, and there's no Von Miller to pull attention on the other side. Even if Tank turns it on, he's not Von Miller, and DWare is even further from playing shape. DWare was also routinely accused of disappearing in big games, so why would we want an older/slower DWare back for big games he disappears in?

Because our pass rush disappears in all games right now...

:muttley:

He was actually a beast in the playoffs in Denver's SB run..

This is an absolute No Brainer of an idea. Even Cowboys could not ignore this GIFT. As to who goes to bring in Ware, the options are many and really not that difficult:

Wilber, Durant, Bell, Benikwere, Jay Elliott, Noah, Rod Smith, Swaim, etc.

Although I'd rather trade someone like Carroll, Crawford, Morris/McFadden, etc. instead. Heck, let's really make it a party and TRADE for Aaron Donald (Taco-Maliek-Crawford & 1st rounder) AND SIGN Demarcus Ware. That's two legit War Daddies plus up and coming game disruptors in Irving and Lawrence.

He could be an asset during the final part of the season and the playoffs when all the others are hurting. If we're not getting Gregory back for the playoffs I wouldn't mind Ware as a pass rushing specialist then.

Not like I'm holding my breath, but is Gregory even eligible for the post season?

Then I can dust off my Ware pro bowl jersey.

And wear it proudly again

Don't rush it..

Just let a month or 2 go by.

If we are still looking elite around that time then sign him up. If not then don't worry about it.

We could have an injury too.

Start thinking about this move around late October or November.
I don't see any down side here, assuming he takes Moore's spot. He'd play specific situations, probably come relatively cap friendly and add tons to help the youngens during the week.

Randy Gregory can apply for reinstatement on or about Nov 2, 2017. Whether or not he's clean, is a different thread......but he can apply with 60 days left on his 1-year suspension which was January 2, 2017.

Ware had 4 sacks in 8 starts last year.

He's a Cowboys through and through, fills our biggest weakness, can just be a 3rd down specialist, would be an awesome story, and I'd love for him to win a ring with us.

I want this to happen badly.

I wouldn't be shocked if he showed up on the playoff roster if we get that far.

I must be the only one interested in seeing what we've got before resorting to the desperation move of convincing someone to come out of retirement in the hail mary attempt to recapture old glory.
