No more excuses for Dak or this franchise....either get it done or it's time for drastic decisions to move on from Dak and others....

He will want Joe Burrow money if you do.
He don’t deserve joe burrow money unless we have our 6 th Lombardi and he was a huge reason why

I like Dak but I like parsons and CeeDee more they need to figure things out

I just don’t care for a few on this board that is everything Dak when it comes to cowboy problems

I’m far more pissed at skelator

How's Trey Lance progressing? That's the X factor in all this. If the Cowboys have a viable alternative option then yeah you move on. If they don't then you're pretty much forced to pay Dak whatever he wants.
Trey Lance was terrible last year and this preseason. I'm not sure how people believe he's going to develop in-season this year: as the #3, he won't get any meaningful reps or much personal attention. Progress begins in the offseason...and that's long after Dak decisions need to be made.

Prescott now leads what is projected as a top 6 team and only costs a top 10 salary...
When he signs a new contract then over the previous 6 years he would have been one of the highest earners over that period of time. He was 6th highest paid QB and still 10th after the four new contracts. He soon be back amongst the top 3 or 4 earners.

Again you might wanna look at what drastic means his cap hit is ridiculous. You can't be willing to destroy your team to get rid of a top ten quarterback in order to make a point that the playoffs aren't enough...

So this is the way a fan speaks this is the way a Internet GM know it all speaks you just can't cut a guy when you look at his dead cap against the salary cap and pay a ghost close to $60 million to not be on your team..ie dead cap.. In my he's not even cuttable until after 2024 not under his current contract..his dead cap is insane the way it sits..2025 its no brainer.. 2024 hurts pretty bad..

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-...scott will earn,dead cap value of $89,070,000.

One can always follow a bouncing ball...not the context here and now.

Care to argue credability on merit of how it is right now?

Coulda woulda shoulda, evening with a bouncing ball...if winning, does your pointed element improve with taking care of that right now?

Really explain it now...or just admit merit as presented?

Why do those decisions need to be made now? his current contract, you just keep him, that's it, don't extend him, don't restructure the cat get gets less, not more as the years go on.. I mean if the guy tries to hold out then you cut his *** then you take the hit but right now this is the worst cap hit in 2023, either you restructure them before the season starts this year and make his next five years better for our cap or you ride with him another two seasons..

he's already going to play under it next year as it gets a little less and then 2025 is when it won't hurt so much... then you can really cut him out right.. Even if he agrees to a trade I believe you still have to have his dead cap but he's has a no trade clause a no franchise trade clause right now Prescott is a playoff caliber quarterback, top ten, people want to get rid of to destroy the team and the cap for what to make yourself feel better as a fan? My dad used to call that cutting off your nose to spite your face....

Viable is a subjective word you get rid of a player who's more than viable who gets you to the second round of the playoffs for someone who may or may not be good enough to win? At a 32 teams in a league how many have truly viable quarterbacks who can get them to the second round of the playoffs? 16 that's being nice.. So what are the other 16 teams that don't have viable quarterbacks doing to try to fix their situation and how long does it taking them and how are we going to just muscle our way in and find a viable one out of all those other teams searching for one especially picking in the bottom five of most of the drafts??
I'm partially with you there. Lance is a total toss up and I would not say that he is viable as of today, however in 6 months we may be looking at that differently, we simply don't know yet.

You really think 16 teams don't have a chance at winning playoff game? Nick Foles went to a super bowl. Brock Purdy made the NFCCG last year. Even last year no one would have said Daniel Jones was capable of winning a playoff game. Recent history has shown us that it isn't easy to find a qb, but it's easier than ever to find a QB. Teams are moving on from top guys (Brady, Rogers, Wilson) and every year now it seems like a middle of the road guy like Cousins, Carr, or Goff become available.

Not saying I would move on from Dak, but I think the option is actually there for the Cowboys where it hasnt been in the past.

Seems ridiculous to me that we are just assuming Jerry gave up a 4th round pick to punt on Lance this season and a player down the depth chart can't progress during the season. Lance is going to get tons of attention and probably becomes the scout team QB right away. Yeah he wont be working with the 1st team offense, but he is going to get a ton of snaps in practice.

How do you fit a middle of the road guy in when you're dead cat for your current quarterback is close to $60 million, and even the next year it's like ie 24 $39 million,

and those middle of the road guys are making 30mil how do you fit Daks dead cap # under the cap and pay them as well??!!,,.. nope its dak or a chaep guy like dalton, rush or baker etc..

BTW im talking about the other 16 teams all vying for the next great qb they are taking up the QB pool.. if theres not enough for 32 we should get rid of a good one to fight 16 other teams for our next one?

no that's why you trying to keep Prescott until after 24 than a guy like lance might be ready then... i mean how long did Aaron rogers and love sit and wait thats a LT goal for your future QB 2 years that not long to resurrect Trey...

He won’t come close to Joe Burrow money unless he has a great season and leads the Cowboys do a championship. Burrow has led Cincinnati to a Super Bowl and has a 5-2 playoff record.

A single fourth round draft pick is not a notable concession for getting any player in a trade.

he should be, We are now down to hoping he just hands off the ball and throwing dink and dunks. That should be 50million worth of play.

Trey will not get enough meaningful snaps or practice time to make a call either way. He needs time, if we see Trey at all this year it's because both Dak and Cooper have been injured.
For the fans to make that determination I agree we (hopefully) won't get enough or any exposure to Trey. He still will have the next five months with this organization that will see him 6 days a week in practice, drills, and the film room. They will get an opportunity to understand what they have. It's not like 3rd string QBs just sit there and hold the clipboard in practice all week.

First of all he's never been the sole reason we lost the game.. He may have been part of the last playoff loss but he wasn't alone so you saying crap the bed in what way you mean like Patrick mahomes not being on the money most of the night last night missing some of his star players being it was game one.. But to all the people that think Patrick mahomes is a God and never makes a bad throw when I watch that game over again now the interception wasn't his fault but look at how that game ended.. All the blame is going on some of the wide receivers but if you look at that ball throwing late it was behind kadarius Tony another one was over the head and two tall there were at least six poor throws maybe some of them should have been caught but I'm really sick of only the quarterbacks being blamed for things around here.. So you use the word crap in your title it doesn't get blocked out and I'm telling you show me a game where Prescott was just total crap when everything else around him was great.. It's rhetorical, you give him a good run game a solid offensive line and he plays well every time.. Last three playoff losses offensive line and run game were the top two reasons we lost the game.. They're not gonna cut him that easily because whether you keep him trade him or cut him the cap hit is insane... So let's cut a top ten player that gets us at least to the second round of the playoffs been to the playoffs 4 of 6 healthy seasons, never been part fo losing season, top 5 in wins and take the cap hit to boot.. The guy's got a great resume he's going to be hard to replace so I'm not sure what people's plans are but you might be not thinking this one through.
I BELIEVE AT 50 MILLION you're the only reason we lost!!

We'll see, but that's what I've heard when people with experience on teams talk about it: they just don't get a lot of meaningful work and attention during the grind of the regular season. But I obviously have no special insight.

You can keep saying that but a salary cap matters in the NFL and if he has a no trade clause and that much dead cat you have to stay with him until it makes more sense... I don't need your input the math doesn't add up, yet he needs to play through 2024 or it will cripple the team... who just now opened a window that needs to stay open for 2 more seasons and that's with dak and frankly this coaching staff. Simply don't restructure keep him under his current deal until after 2024... Now if he tries to hold out for more money next year and he wants a bigger deal and ability to waive his no trade clause maybe then you have to try to move on. But if he is willing to play under his current contract for two more seasons that's what I'm doing..
