If Dak doesn't win the superbowl this year, why should we continue to support a perpetual choker?

I like Dak, and he is the guy for now, but he, like Romo, did not get results that compare favorably with your list.

Excellent post. The Dak hardcores like to throw this SB stat around but it misses the point, which is Dak lead teams have had no success OF ANY KIND in the playoffs, and that includes last year when the game was there for the taking at the end and he completely choked. He is what he is. If we was going to be a champion he would have had some kind of post season success by now most likely. And he wouldn't have completely folded under pressure like he did last year.

The defense has improved with Parsons but we still need more talent to stop the run. The ECens already created a template when they won with Dilfer and Flacco. Our defense will have to match those teams and the offense will have to be opportunistic and not turn the ball over. Dak Prescott isn’t going to lead the team in a shootout with anyone so we need a defense that is going to limit teams from scoring high.

Agree with everything you said except lumping Flacco in with Dilfer. Flacco was excellent in his prime and clutch in the playoffs. He was much better than Dak as well.

If it was all on one player, you'd have a point. However it comes down to how the entire team performs come playoff time. If the defense won't make stops, is that on the QB? No. If the O-line won't protect, there's not a lot the QB can do.

Your entire premise is flawed. I'm not saying Dak is elite or not to blame for last year's playoff loss. He contributed to it big time, but the entire team played poorly. What if they do so again? What if he plays the best a QB can but the receivers all drop the ball and the defense can't make stops? How is that the QB's fault?

So while it's frustrating they haven't gotten far into the playoffs with him, there are a lot of factors at play and it's disingenuous and stupid to put it all on one guy. What about the OC who called a bad game? What about the HC mistakes?

So either you're trolling to get reactions or you really believe that it's all on the QB and only on the QB. I choose to believe you're trolling because otherwise I'd have to wonder how you can even breathe with so few working brain cells.

If the entire team plays amazingly but Dak chokes...I'll concede your point. We have never seen that though. Not once.

Dak is an above average QB who became average the moment he decided he’s not going to run to get more money

The only way he even gets to a SB is by buying tickets
 
Super Bowls wins are team stats.

However, the QB is very important to this success.

With that said, Dak Prescott will NEVER the QB of Super Bowl winning team unless you have an all-time great defense.

Flacco had some periods of brilliance and yes definitely better than Dilfer but without that defense Flacco would not have won a Superbowl and is certainly not going into the HoF

The problem here is the premise that QBs alone win SBs. That’s not correct. Teams do. I agree that Dak needs to lead us to some playoff wins. But even the best QBs need help to win a SB.

Don’t believe me?
  • Look at the 2020 SB champion Buccaneers. Brady was horrible in the NFC championship game that year vs GB. He threw 3 picks that allowed the pack to almost win that game. The Tampa defense bailed him out. He played very well in the SB. But without the TB defense, there is no SB win.
  • Look at last year’s champ the rams. Matt Stafford had ZERO playoff wins until he was traded to a better TEAM. Stafford was a key part of them winning, but he certainly didn’t carry them alone.
  • The year Filly won their SB their QB was Nick Foles. Anyone watching the e-girls playoff wins that season know very well that Nick Foles did not carry that team alone on his back.
Look, Dak needs to start leading this team to some playoff wins- on that I agree. But it takes a lot more than a hero at QB to win a SB.
