If Dak doesn't win the superbowl this year, why should we continue to support a perpetual choker?

As good as we are this year, I'd say we're a top 4 team. And then, you have to win the championship, which the top 4 teams each have a 25 percent chance once you get to the final games, I mean, if we're talking even odds.

But then you add in all the other teams with a legitimate shot and the odds decrease.

Each year, no matter how good you are, the odds of winning are against you.

Actually all of them didn't. Im not saying Dak is better than any of those quarterbacks.... but Dak won his first playoff game before a couple of them won their first. So when we're looking at the first 5, 6, 7 years of all of these quarterbacks.... i think its definitely a fair comparison.


The only problem is people give excuses for those other quarterbacks that isn't afforded to Dak. And here's the catch. Most of those other quarterbacks are 1st and 2nd rounders.... Dak was a 4th rounder.

I wish it wasn't true, especially in SB XIII and the NFC championship game of the 1994 season, but even Staubach and Aikman couldn't overcome allowing 30+ points in the postseason. And yet, we get these rationalizations that Dallas lost 34-31 to Green Bay because of Dak. Dak is Dak, but he's not the reason Dallas lost that game on that day.

Right. But he had some contribution to the loss which put us in a hole early on with slow start which he did comeback from. And he missed a couple key throws like in our last possession in end zone . Plenty of blame to go around though .

I think that’s a key factor for our success with Prescott is playing in front with the lead not needing heroic comebacks which he is capable of .

All of our big playoff losses with Prescott against GB, LA and SF we had early 2 score deficits if I recall correctly to overcome because of slow starts offensively coupled with defensive weaknesses .

Maybe with a greater defense we won’t get ourselves in as big a hole if Prescott and offense get off to a slow start.

Dak put up 31 points against Green Bay. The defense gave up four TD drives of 75 yards or more, and couldn't hold for 30 seconds to force OT.

The Cowboys have never won a playoff game when the opponent scored 30+ points. They weren't winning a SB with that defense, Romo or not.

And Dak and the offense puts up 30+ points again in the playoffs, but loses because of the defenses inability to stop the opposing offense and QB. Lots of the same people will still be pinning the loss on Dak and still be looking at what Dak did "wrong" in the game not to score more points. if the Cowboys were to lose 41-38, there would be those complaining about why Dak didn't put up 42 points. And then his stats in the game would be discredited as "garbage time" stats since the Cowboys loss.

I don't know why some believe that the Cowboys are guaranteed to have won a SB in 2016 with Romo. Because unless Romo's offense was able to build a big double digit lead or unless Romo
s offense was able to have the ball last, the Cowboys were always in danger of being eliminated from the playoffs, for as along as the defense had to be relied upon to make key stops and 4th quarter stops in a close game.

Wow really. Not sure where you arrived at that assumption . But I’d hope that Jethro would conduct himself in a manner that would force the owners to vote him out. I think that’s most Cowboys fans greatest wish.

But the Cowboys are my local team. There’s no getting another team unless Dallas brings another expansion team in. I supported the Dallas Texans when they were here as well. I’m not one of those casual or wagon fans who hop on teams from other cities or regions because I’m not happy.

You don’t have to support every piece of the sum. That’s all part of being a diehard fan complaining all the way to the bank. Which provides us the right to do so as a faithful patron.

If you want to defend Jethro and the Jone$ that’s your prerogative and I’ll gladly debate as such but if your only recourse is to attempt to discredit me and or attack me then it’s a lost battle for you and simply against the rules .

No obviously I knew you weren’t talking a hit but you did say get rid of JJ and there is no way you can do that legally. A fan strike has been mentioned with zero effect.

This is the year. It became quite obvious years ago that Dak couldn't carry a team with an average (or worse) defense . Now we're finding out if this team can contend with Dak and a playoff quality defense. If the answer is still NO then this team needs to be actively searching for a new QB. As sick as I am with all of his choking and reading the fanboi delusions on this messageboard I still think there's a possibility to contend if the Cowboys have an elite defense. Do we have the cap dollars to pull that off though?
