If Dak has a year like last year, this will be his final year with the team

Laugh it up. Doesn't have anything to do with what you quoted.
I'm on record as saying I'm okay with dsk being our q.b. I'm also on record saying team progress comes first and foremost. Draft every position and give competition....but also have at least a chance at having the next guy. If you wait for the perfect moment you've already lost. Green Bay had Rodgers before favre moved on. We had Romo already on our roster. We...had dak in the wings.
Who do we have now? Why would having some one legit to challenge dak and help our TEAM make you so defensive? And offensive, really. Like you got one over on me....when it had nothing to do with what I said.

not sure why you forum bullies are constantly looking to pick fights.

Competition is great. I’ve never said otherwise. You have an agenda?

We all do.
I guess you don't have a clue.... agenda isn't always an insult like you hope things always are.
Business meetings have an agenda and minutes to show if they met it.
Not everything is an insult and not everyone wants to fight all the time.

Only in Dallas, the fans want to get rid of the qb that led them to back to back 12 wins season. He didn't fare well in the SF game, but he didn't have much help after Pollard went down. The week before he annihilated the Tom Brady led team.
oh pleeease. how is the exchange rate today? how many 12 win back to back seasons get you 1 SB?

Can't take seriously the Tampa game, Tampa imploded more than anything and played their worst game in years. Dak didn't "annihilated" Brady... as many Dak lovers have pointed, Dak doesn't play Defense, ST or coach positions. But go ahead you be you and rejoice on an otherwise pedestrian victory

Whatever, take off the rose glasses for Dak. It has been proven time and time again Brady took less money. If Dak was as talented and actually getting to SB”s it would be different.
Hurts took the money as well after the SB, we will see how it affects the team going forward.
oh wait they already let 9 players get away in FA then signed Hurts.

Burrow and Herbert are on rookie contracts still so you have now argument there. Lamar is holding out for a super huge deal also. We will see about him as well.

Calling my post ridiculous is ridiculous when many others have stated the same thing in various threads.
You said Dak is in cruise control because he got paid. That presupposes that EVERY quarterback who has or will get paid goes into cruise control, because there is absolutely nothing to substantiate it with Dak. It's not rose colored glasses, because there are flaws to his games, but the idea is generated out of thin air. It is a ridiculous notion, and everyone who says anything similar is ridiculous too.

You’ve already given him 4 signing bonuses despite him only playing 2 years on that deal so far. Because of that, Keeping him costs 59m$ and cutting him costs 61m$.

Even if he plays much worse, he’s almost assuredly the cowboys starting QB in 2024; nevermind the rumored extension
The Lion has spoken. Dak's not going anywhere for at least 2 years unless he just really stinks it up.

That article had some cherry picking, yes. Posting career stats is the opposite of cherry picking, but you do you.
avoiding games that cost the team playoff appearances or may have led to that is the essence of cherry picking. But hey happy draft day

again, that's the case for all the ones not Elite....you picked one player. the list is longer. much longer. Even the great Aaron Rodgers. a sure bet HOFer, is 41-44 record against eams with a winning record.

this doesn't mean I don't expect or want better QB play. by far. I do. but you can't measure these in a silo or against one single QB....

and yes, these other QBs are hurting their own team as well. its not just about lighting it up, otherwise they are doing nothing....

https://sportsandfitnessdigest.com/active-nfl-quarterback-records-against-winning-teams/
And how many of those losses by Aaron Rodgers was directly related to his play or lack thereof? That's what I am saying - I don't care that Dak isn't putting up monster numbers. I care that Dak doesn't screw his own team with his play and he consistently does that against the better teams.

some, not all. and again, Rodgers is Elite. tell me about the non-elites..... they are not elite because they make mistakes. and not enough good plays. so you are comparing Dak to Rodgers and complaining that Dak is not Rodgers. not sure to what end and what you are trying to prove. that Dak is not elite? I think that's been established. beating a dead horse? why?

You won't find a bigger Dak fan anywhere then me. But even I can see the writing on he wall. He's not Jerrys choice. I've said this since his rookie yr. Jerry wouldn't even entertain the idea of having him starter over Romo even with him t taking the league by storm that first yr. AND it's not like Jerry doesn't throw a sunrise jab at da fk every chance he gets. I think that contract negotiation and his agent hoping the price every time they talk he was the last straw for Jerry.

If he has a yr anywhere like last yr, this will ge his final yr with the team IMO. He has 61 mil still guaranteed, and a 59mil cap hit next yr. So they can make him a June cut and save 28.5mil. Get 28.5 mil in june to sign guys like Ceedee and Diggs. Of course you have a huge hole but it is and eat it is.

https://titanswire.usatoday.com/2023/03/01/tennessee-titans-salary-cap-space-2024
Overthecap is projecting 256mil cap in 2024 and Dallas has 46 players under contract. Which means Dallas has the 51 cap number basically set. As of right now Dallas has 6.4mil in caproom another 6 in June. Dallas will need around 3mil to pay their rookies. So take 9mil in rollover for 2024. With OTC projections Dallas could walk into 2024 with a 265 mil adjected cap with 212mil already allocated. So they can have 43mil in cap space.

Now say Dak is just not getting it done, moving on from him wouldn't kill the team because they've drafted so good. The majority of the team is on rookie deals. This forum has hated this deal since it was signed because they saw 40mil AAV, but he's had 21Mil AAV since signing his deal and we're in yr 3 of 4. This shows you this team knows what they're doing with their contracts. Yeah 30mil is a big chunk, but it's alot better than 59mil. And that's 30mil for nothing just dead money if he's gone. But it doesn't kill you because you have 46 players already signed. And the core is already under contract.
He's not going anywhere for several years. The Cowboys are married to him.

I still don't ....and likely never will...understand why people hoist up that 2022 Bucs playoff game as some sort of crowing achievement. Dak and team played well against a crappy team then pooped the bed against a good playoff team ...a game that was very winnable.

Per usual.

No, it isn't cherry picking, defining playoff stats is an objective measure.

If you can make an objective measure for:
games that cost the team playoff appearances or may have led to that
and then apply that to multiple QBs I would be happy to see what that looks like, but we don't have that right now.

Regardless, happy draft day.

Enjoy Dak's last season as sure as the sun will rise he will follow Zeke as a pre-June 1st 2024 cut.
Talent is lacking and the facade is almost over!
P.S. After 8 years of Mr.Goodwill and sauce it will be a pleasure having him not even find a starting job after the Boys release him.
Calm down. Dak is your daddy! LOL
