If Dak has a year like last year, this will be his final year with the team

Only in Dallas, the fans want to get rid of the qb that led them to back to back 12 wins season. He didn't fare well in the SF game, but he didn't have much help after Pollard went down. The week before he annihilated the Tom Brady led team.
You are so very proud of beating a 45 year old dysfunctional retired unretired qb on a bad team even the head coach quit on.

Only I Dallas.

Maybe Cleveland. Jets maybe?

You are why we can't have nice things anymore. Jerry takes your money one way or another and both of you are just tickled as can be.....smug, satisfied, top of the world.
Beat your chest about it even.
You go ahead and brag about "annihilating" that 8-9 juggernaut bucs team.
This is our benchmark now.

What's the alternative? Dial 1 800 eliteqb? Those Mahome types are a dime a dozen.

I never said I was happy with the status quo, but all this *****ing about Dak, without a real alternative is just stupid talk!
When you ....wait.... for the perfect moment to strike.....you will always be waiting.
You think those teams KNEW mahommes, brady, Rodgers.....would for sure be who they were\are?

Stupid talk.

Yeah all these Dak lovers love to throw out WHO you gonna replace him with. When for years we've been throwing out names of players Dallas could of gone after.

I mean, to the OP title there's like no way this could happen could it? Dak getting fired?
I mean he went from starting off as a somewhat mobile QB with limited passing skills that needed a lotta support, especially on the ground game to win against better or playoff opponents.
Over the next few years he slowly upped his passing volume in an attempt to imitate other more accomplished passers because he thinks he was capable to emulate them. But only he thinks this.
I mean he ultimately got his 2nd playcaller fired because he can't make good decisions in real time with the ball in his hand. And THAT aspect of his game, the mental part, will never change.

BUT let's just say for the fun of it that NOW everything is gonna be different. I said for the fun of it.

And that in his 8th year, while still having major footwork and accuracy issues along with an inability to read defenses, processing speed and seeing the whole field, he surely is gonna save his own and Coach McCarthy's job with a re-birth!

And hell froze over.
Hey Dan, "You're up next!"
Dak's GroundHog Day Cowboys legacy continues on.

Sad but true.

My favorite is Mr. Plan.
No, stick with the current plan, it's results are yielding major success.

BUT they're staying in the news.
Or relevant, said Jerry and his minions here.

Don't need no stinkin trophy, lol.

This is just another dumb thread. The only way Dak.is not here next year is if he can't suit up and play. He has a no trade clause and they can't cut him fir cap reasons. Full stop.

He didn't make 50 mil. He made 19mil. I'm sure you talking bout his next deal. But it kinda falls in the same box. He can sign a deal that's 50milAAV but he will make closer to 30mil AAV. And he'll have some money owed at the end of his career like romo had.
Two things in life are near certainty.
Dak will never count 50 against the cap and we will never win a SB with Dak.

Who all Dallas fans should remember was, according to Jones (wink wink), planned to not play immediately because he acquired Tony Banks to start while Carter learned under him. And the self-appointed for life general manager changed that so-called plan before Carter's rookie regular season began.
wasn't that because Banks got hurt?

lol! No.

Jones rolls the dice again with Carter
By John Clayton | ESPN
August 14, 2001

<snip>

Jones called it an aggressive decision.

"Throughout the history of this organization, we have never gotten here by laying up and then hitting into the green; we have gotten there going for it," Jones said. "That really influenced the overall thinking and decision making. We are going for it here. We recognized risks that are involved. We recognized that there is nothing sure except we had success going for it."

<snip>

Jones stopped short of saying the Cowboys are in a rebuilding mode. He said the organization will stay loose and look for player opportunities that could help the team this year and next year.

"Don't be surprised," Jones warned, "if all of a sudden a personnel decision is not consistent with what was talked about two months ago."

He's still making mistakes that rookies make. Throwing into triple coverage? Not seeing the whole field? We can draft someone in the 7th round to do that and Save 44 million a year. We can sign an undrafted player again. He needs to figure out which Dak he wants to be every game and then go from there.

Games where he does that always follow an outstanding game where he likes the other team up. I don't know if it's mental, if he thinks he can relax after a good week, but he looks lost out there a lot of the times. Worse than a rookie.
The teams he lights up are generally teams that are weak or plagued with injury. In fact the only consistent thing about Dak's play is that he consistently beats bad teams and consistently struggles against the better defenses. It's what makes him a good regular season QB but a horrible postseason QB.

Unless you can get a true upgrade, I don't see the point of changing out Dak with anyone available especially with an old guy like Rodgers or a guy like Jackson, who is one hit away from being ruined forever and hardly has availability as it is.

I think if anything Jerry/Stephen is upset about it, it has been Dak's injuries and availability the last couple years. I think that could lead to his eventual replacement more than his play. To even think about it they need to draft a QB that COULD possibly one day replace Dak. Until I see that, I'm not believing it will happen until they are forced to find a guy.
I am not a big fan of jackson. we all complain about Dak and post season. What has Jackson done in the post season?

If Dak struggles you don't extend him and trade Parsons for the #1pick in 2024 and grab the top QB.
25 years of fail without a franchise QB is enough.
what if the top QB is Baker Mayfield? ala in 2023 who is the can't miss QB prospect?

that's the case for almost any QB, outside of Elite's. this notion of these QBs everyone loves are lighting up good teams is just a myth....checkout their records against teams with a winning record. thats one of the indicators.

Some people are better at picking quarterbacks than others. some people fit a system to that quarterbacks strengths not vice versa.
Dak was a great example of this.
his rookie offense fit him to a tee and he looked like a world beater. as soon as they began putting him in the pocket flaws began to show. Now defenses have realized and amplified those flaws.
That along with limited mobility trouble ensues.

Give me a accurate, above average arm with a brain attached and he'll get you to the dance.

Some of them are that way, sure. Cousins is probably the most obvious one on that list. No one claims that Dak needs to be flawless against the good teams, but at his level he isn't the guy who is going to be the difference maker against good teams. When that is the case he at the minimum needs to be the guy who doesn't hurt his team consistently against the better teams. Those other QB's might not be lighting up the good teams but they are not hurting their own team.
