If Dak is playable and on the field, he produces

Accepting "just fine" from a QB that's paid like he's a 5x Superbowl champ is what's wrong with this franchise. Delusional fans keep filling Jerry's pockets so he doesn't have a reason to change anything.
Salary cap does not have much to do with Jerry's pockets.

Which recent thread is the one where one of our posters posted a chart comparing the positional ranks of both offense, defense and special teams for all 32 teams in 2024?

I would appreciate if someone could let me know. My apologies for the trouble.

Dak is not the same player since he broke his ankle. Even fully healed from that injury, everyone knows he's limited to being a pocket passer. Without pass protection he's pretty terrible. Calling him a producer is just a lie.

Aikman was a pocket passer and without protection and a run game he sucked as well.

No, it shows regular productivity and that if not injured can be counted upon. Go on and root for failure. Enjoy now!
Doesn't take into account age and wear and tear. Some things might be true for a set time frame, under certain conditions, but don't hold up out of that time frame. Dak is worn...

Truth be told he was never that good of a pocket passer to begin with. That hasn't improved with time and now he no longer has the legs to even break out and run the ball for positive yards.

That has the most limitation on a position that involves or takes crushing explosive impact.

That impact is what builds up upon quarterbacks. Speed is an element that has to be monitored. Monitored. The year round conditioning, diet, and directed procedures extend the playing days for players. Darrell Green, a premier runner and football player both, was out running the top runners in the NFL, up into his 40's. Age itself is not above being extended and a player's positional effectiveness retained. That is up to specific limitations or strengths of that particular player.

Non disciplined linemen are responsible for quarterbacks getting injured and accumulation of damage. Coaching staffs that don't hold accountability for penalties have groups that don't fully protect their quarterbacks!

As to quarterbacks, a reduction in risk situations extends his production. The longer a productive quarterback is in the action, he actually gets better if the team around him maintains levels of support.

Moving the ball can be fancy Dan or it can be nose to nose. Injury protection tends towards finesse and open space effectiveness. Speed kills, but team play wins.

The quarterback on the field is the offensive (hence team) leader on the carpet. But the real leadership of team is the coaching staff. They react to play on that carpet and prepare the team for game time activity and reaction to challenges. There are always negative challenges. Good teams are prepared for the effects of game changers.

Game changes are what killed Prescott as well caused failures of even good Dallas teams in playoffs. That part is the reality of football. That is what football is all about...not insults as a sideline to a fan.

Dak is far from a handicapped quarterback due to age. The thing there is a quarterback as team leader is never off the hook. He, although, has plenty of ability to bring to the table and compete.

No, that's not the truth.

Good response and directly to the heart of football. :starspin:
Well thank you,

apparently this guy has never listened to some of these teammates, current and some that are leaving,

like Zach Martin going out of their way to give flowers to Prescott they had no need to do that on their press conference, on their way out ,saying how great a teammate, he's been a friend ,and a leader of this team..

it's been on too many occasions to point out but apparently, we shouldn't trust his teammates or his coaches, we should just listen to the Internet babies who just don't like Prescott, they're called haters.
so they find everything they can wrong with the man, now he doesn't train hard enough, that he's stealing money, he's lazy he's not a leader ,he can't win in big games blah blah blah
apparently, he doesn't understand the team games, and that we watched all those games ,and there's far too many collapses by the team that make it difficult for a quarterback to function at a high level
... That goes for the entire NFL it goes for them to all sports if you want to win a championship you have to have all the players moving in One Direction playing very well and stepping up in crunch time ,and that has not happened here with Romo or Prescott... they are great quarterbacks, they are franchise quarterbacks they are leaders and they failed because their team failed and that's just how it goes..

So weird. Some people still think that Dak is going to find the fountain of youth next year and look like the bestest quarterback in the league.

No, that's not the truth.
Yes, it absolutely is the truth. In almost a decade as QB1, he has led the Cowboys nowhere. In 2025 he will be attempting a comeback from yet another season ending injury. He was already limited as a starting QB, now he will only get worse. It's time for you Dak fans to smell the coffee and wake up. Dak and his blotted contract are a burden to this team. It's time for the torched to be passed at QB.

What we have here is undeserved loyalty and stubbornness. CCBoy, you're a good egg as a Cowboys fan. Over the years I have enjoyed your posts and displays of great fandom for the Cowboys. I truly appreciate you. However, it's time to see Dak for what he is and not what you wish him to be.

In a decade as our QB1, Dak should have something to show for it. A conference championship, an MVP award, something to distinguish him as having the ability to match the expectations for which he was drafted. That hasn't happened and the excuses I see you making for him just don't fill the deficit left in the wake of disappointment. Wake up buddy, Dak is done.

Romo was in the same position. I wonder the GM was for Romo?

You fail see one major point. Dak is part of “the top” from which it flows. Dak doesn’t hold himself accountable. He doesn’t hold the FO accountable. He don’t hold the coaching accountable.

Daks been portrayed as a great leader, why? Because he built a football field in his back yard and has some WRs over in the off season to play catch?

What does Dak do to prove he’s a leader? I know. He tries to act tough when he’s hurting a little bit, then yells at the coach that he’s going in. Or maybe it’s when he stands on the sideline during a game telling teammates how bad “we suck”. Yep, sounds like a leader to me.

The only way Dak has a chance is if they decide to bring in several better free agents, draft at least 3 starters, and hope they aren’t as injured as they were last year.

Dak also needs to get past this always injured BS. Train more, play smarter, be faster, and suck it up!!!
Did you play singles tennis in HS? Just curious.
