If Dak signs a long term deal, does Lance seek a trade?

That doesn't matter. You win super bowls with players that have high ceilings not low floors.
Haha. You don't win with hypotheticals. You win with reality. Reality is Lance struggled to start in HS, College and now in the NFL.

At no point do Lance take over the # 2 job from Rush this season. Case closed.

Huh? All along the story with him is he needed more time to learn how to play in the NFL before he started getting some snaps.

He got that. So it wasn't a wasted year at all. Will he ever be good or bad? We don't know. But for a 4th it was worth the risk.
Huh? When has he played? At any level?

What do you think they do at the combine?????

They measure, Height, Weight, arm length, 40 yard times, 3 cone time drills, long jump, high jump, hand length, bench press, aptitude tests, interviews etc etc etc.....Now what do those have to do with ones stats in college???

First round is full of bust quarterbacks that had great college stats, Purdy is the starting QB in the NFC championship game this week, he was the LAST PLAYER taken in the draft, do you think it was because of his college stats the reason why he was selected last, or maybe during testing he had smaller hands?
I think that's what he meant exactly. you can throw the ball a mile and jump over a car. but does your college tape show you can read a defense, make the tight throws, go through your progression, etc. those matter more than measurables.

What would be the point of Lance wanting to stay?? Please give your thoughts
I think no.

Lance's contract with us has 1 more year left. He had a harsh start to his career.
IMO for him to stay for one more year out of the spotllight and get his career back on track is a good thing.

Last season he was the no 3 QB. The next step should be being #2 in 2024. That would be a good revival of his career.

After the 2024 season he is free to decide.

Lance has made a nice living NOT playing and just being the guy with potential. He’s probably not ready to give that up yet. Maybe he’s like a Jordan Love who will bloom when it’s his time.

What career back on track? He has literally played QB for 1 season in his life.
