If Dak signs during or after camp, is that an indictment on Lance?

Not that he has it, but the Cowboys want to see if he could earn it, and if he does show something Dak is gone.

if they want to move on from dak, i highly doubt all hopes are on lance or they fork over near or record breaking money.

I believe this was primarily Jerry Jones' personal strategy when he acquired Trey Lance last August. Lance is either: a) his fall back option if he cannot get Dak Prescott to agree to favorable terms; or b) he can schmooze another general manager (or managers) and craft a trade up for an optimal candidate in the draft.

Trading up is key. I doubt he will give the position his highest priority in the draft unless he can have the best choices available to him on day one.

Every QB that came out in this years draft has more experience than Trance. All the failed QB's that that got drafted over the last 3 years that actually have more experience.

Trance would be the last one on my priority list and I definitely would not trade for him when he can be had for nothing next year.

I think any good will they had with Dak was erased when they traded for Trance. Intentionally or otherwise, Dak received the message loud and clear.

You need to understand what you read;
Most likely the writer is simply talking about Lance threw a lot of shorter passes and didn't try to challenge the secondary as much as the writer would have liked to see.
With him still being new to the offense I would expect that early on.
I think you're just looking for something to hate about Lance and Rush.

This offensive line will struggle in pass protection. If Lance struggles, he'll be cut.

Dak will struggle as he'll be under pressure with a inexperienced OL and some tougher defenses so we'll either have a developing Lance, or a top draft pick. Dak will be gone in 2025, or sooner.

We will finish 3rd in the division, and I'm fine with that.

2025 we'll have a new HC, new starting QB, a complete defense, and finally a chance to move forward.
