If Dallas was in a position to trade Prescott, what would his value be right now?

The reward is minuscule in comparison to the risk involved

Nobody is going to pay a significant price for this guy right now

And if he pans out to be a great QB..which is a big if mind you..there is no price tag for those guys

It's a lose lose scenario for Dallas

The Cowboys would have been ridiculed and considered a laughingstock if they chose Dak with the 4th pick in the draft. And you know what, the Cowboys would have been right about his talent level.

Right now, Dak's value is worth more than Goff and Wentz. Right now, Dak is outplaying them. And Dak has the better contract for any hypothetical team looking to trade. Good luck trying to move Goff or Wentz with their contracts. Dak is worth more right now than what LA and Philly gave up to move to the 1 and 2 position this year.

Anyone wanting to trade Dak for Goff, Wentz, or Lynch straight up right now? Not me.
True Dat, but.. still like Lynch as he is proving to be legit as he was my fav. coming out and he fires a bullet.

Love the post. However, would we be smart to finally have at least two really good QBs on the roster?

Man you got that right.

It's really an embarrassment of riches. You look at a team like the Bills who have really good talent but have floundered for years because they can't find a QB and then Dak does what he does with Romo in his best years.

Wow, that is as good as it gets in the NFL.

As the OP stated, this is merely an exercise in perceived value. Nobody offering an opinion is actually suggesting that trading him would be a good idea.

Interesting posters here but I haven't seen any indication of a truly mentally handicapped individual. We are keeping Dak, yes we are!

I don't dangle the future of our franchise for anyone right now. You get few chances for potential franchise qbs and with Romos age you don't mess around.
Thats not the point of the thread. The thread is a question of how much Prescotts value has increased. Not a should we trade him

Imagine being the Texans. You just paid Osweiler a ton of money and the 4th round rookie in Dallas looks exponentially better. Ha!

Or worse yet being Philly who gave away a couple years worth of drafts to get Wentz....

What I liked about Lynch so much was that he has a cannon but also knows how to throw passes with touch. Very rare for a QB in that stage. Its one of the advantages of having a QB with a good but not overpowering arm. They learn how to effectively pass with both touch and velocity because they dont have to pure arm strength to rely on just velocity. Its why most of the elite QBs dont have overpowering arms. To have both an overpowering arm and the ability to pass with touch is rare. Thats why I thought Lynch was the best QB prospect in the draft

I asked this in another thread, but I think it would be an interesting subject.

Say Dallas was in a position right now to dangle Prescott (say Romo was 27, not 37). What could you see a team needing someone to groom for the future ( SD, NO, SF, Arizona to name a few) willing to give up for Prescott
Two first round picks !!!!! :yourock::yourock:

we search forever for a backup qb
we get ridiculed forever cause we never take a good one
we pass on qb after qb after qb
and then - when all hope seems lost and we've settled into knowing we're going to have a revolving door soon - we get a glimmer of hope.

a faint shining star - still off in the distance but yet - still a glimer of hope.

this place wants to trade his ***.

go figure.

There's no way I trade Dak period. People get way too caught up in draft position. What matters is how they perform on gameday. Brady was a 6th rounder. In a hypothetical, if other teams gave up a ton to get Goff or Wentz, I'm sure at the minimum you can get 2 first rounders for Dak.
